Grow here.\nThe AECOM Civil Infrastructure Department has an opportunity for a Civil Engineering Estimator to join our team.\nYou will work in a multidisciplinary office that offers a range of services, including Civil & Infrastructure Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical/Ground Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Building Services, and Building Surveying.\nThe Civil Infrastructure team offers a variety of exciting and challenging projects, including Developer-led Commercial, Regeneration, Educational and Healthcare projects (both private and public sector), Renewables projects within the Power and Energy Sector and MOD projects within the Defence Sector, and you will be working with an experienced and settled team working across all the sectors.\nHere’s what you’ll do:\nAs a Civil Engineering Estimator, you will be working within our Contract Services group, part of our Civil Infrastructure team. You will be supported and supervised to become responsible for producing tender packages (contract documents/quantity take-offs/bills of quantities), contract administration, procurement of contractors, preparation of cost estimates, project finance/cost control, and report writing. The role will increasingly involve close liaison with Clients, local authorities, stakeholders, regulators and representatives from external organisations.\nYou will be involved in a range of day-to-day duties of the aforementioned projects, assisting the team in delivering and managing commercial aspects of your projects. All Engineers / Civil Engineering Estimators within our Civil Infrastructure department are also encouraged to visit their sites, see the work and develop into more rounded/complete professionals, taking on more responsibility as their experience develops.\nThis is a great opportunity for someone looking to take their career to the next level within an established team with a strong track record of delivering Civil Engineering projects throughout the UK. Take advantage of career development opportunities, our flexible hybrid working model to ensure a work-life balance that suits your lifestyle, technical practice networks, AECOM University, and volunteering days.\n Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?\nRequirements:\nExperienced in the production of tender documents (quantity take-offs from design drawings, bills of quantities / contract conditions) & specifications.\nExperienced in Contract Administration role including procurement of contractors and project finance / cost control (monitoring project cash flow and support timely applications for payment).\nExperienced in preparation of cost estimates.\nFamiliar with CESMM3 / CESMM4 and MCHW (Highways) methods of measurement.\nGeneral understanding of civil engineering practices.\nExperience in working with NEC3 / 4, ICC and JCT Contract Conditions.\nExperienced in managing cost reporting, forecasting, contractor valuations, and cost-to-complete assessments.\nWork with project teams to support progress reviews, reporting and risk identification.\nUphold internal governance, HSE standards and Business Management Systems (BMS) / Group commercial expectations.\nPossess strong numerical, analytical and IT skills.\nPossess good written skills and the ability to communicate effectively with Clients verbally.\nHigh levels of motivation and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision and fronting Client facing aspects of projects with a desire to build strong Client relationships.\nHold a full UK driving license.\nPreferred Qualifications\nHNC in Estimating / Civil Engineering or undertaking any industry recognised part-time equivalents.\nAppropriate level of experience in the Civil Engineering Estimator role in lieu of qualifications will be considered.\nSupport will be given to assist in the successful candidate in achieving the appropriate qualification with one of the following professional bodies - ICE or ICES.\n At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
