Join us.\n The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is seeking a creative, motivated and highly talented Civil Engineer to work with our group of civil/transportation engineering professionals in Arlington, VA. Candidate will help in assisting and executing roadway, transit, and civil design projects ranging from large design-builds to boutique urban and transit-oriented projects in the DMV region.\nOur Arlington Transportation practice is a multi-discipline practice focused on providing collaborative and holistic solutions to transportation and the built environment. The ability to work with other engineering disciplines at various locations, both internal and external to AECOM is a must. This position involves working with a close-knit team of design professionals where effective communication is an important part of the job.\nThe successful candidate will serve as a civil/ project engineer on various design projects and will be responsible for:\nWorking with Project Managers and discipline leads with engineering tasks and other duties as assigned\nPerforming and overseeing the preparation of deliverables such as calculations, drawings, design, and specifications related to roadway/highway design projects and transportation/transit systems\nGuiding junior engineers and providing QA/QC for projects deliverables\nCollaborating with other disciplines to research, analyze, or resolve complex transportation analyses or design issues\nInteracting and coordinating regularly with clients and sub consultants in the various assignments \nUnderstanding trends, best practices, and innovation in the transportation industry and exploring opportunities of implementing them on projects\nProviding assistance in business development activities in providing responses to RFP, RFQ, and SOQ including technical writing, and scope and fee development\n Minimum Requirements:\nBS Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.\nExperience with performing roadway, highway, transit and civil engineering design for transportation projects. \nExperience with AutoCAD/Civil3D, OpenRoads, Microstation, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software programs.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nVDOT, DDOT, NoVA Counties and WMATA project experience\nKnowledge of the Northern Virginia, DC Metro and Maryland markets.\nExperience in proposal preparation and business development\nExperience in implementing design quality assurance and quality control activities.\nAbility to interact regularly and professionally with senior management and technical staff in other offices on business and project execution.\nAbility to lead project tasks and teams\nMotivated self-starter who displays a passion for solving problems, interacting in a team environment, and meeting established deadlines for design projects including design-build, complete streets and transit.\nExcellent interpersonal skills and team-building ability and internal/external networking skills.\nDemonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
