Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a Commercial Manager to be based in our Baltimore, MD office to support the B&P Tunnel Replacement (BPTR) Program among other project opportunities available at AECOM.\nAECOM is the delivery partner for Amtrak on the BPTR Program that will upgrade a ten-mile section of the Northeast Corridor (NEC), America’s busiest passenger rail line. The delivery partner team is responsible for supporting Amtrak with overseeing the full breadth of the program. The scope of services includes program management, design oversight, construction oversight, commissioning oversight, program controls, and commercial and capacity building. The Program will also include delivery of new roadway and railroad bridges, new rail systems and track, and a new ADA-accessible West Baltimore MARC station.\nThe Commercial Manager will oversee the administration and performance of the contract (s). This role ensures effective contract management, compliance, and communication throughout the design phase and contract closeout. The position requires regular attendance at the Integrated Project Office (IPO) in Baltimore with flexibility for travel and remote work as appropriate. The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing design management processes while leveraging commercial and contractual expertise to address complex challenges. This role ensures effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, driving alignment between design objectives and business goals to deliver successful project outcome\nKey Responsibilities\nAdminister contract(s) ensuring compliance and performance.\nManage contract modifications, change orders, and claims resolution.\nServe as primary interface for commercial and contractual challenges during design progression.\nMonitor financial performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.\nSupport dispute resolution and DRB processes.\nReview invoices and deliverables for compliance with contract terms.\nCoordinate closely with Procurement and COTR on official contract actions.\nMaintain vital records for audits, grants management, and contract closeout.\nTrend and manage E&O activities and commercial impacts on construction packages.\nPrepare weekly performance updates for leadership.\nLead development and maintenance of project risk registers.\nSupport negotiations for contract change orders and variations.\nManage design issues impacting construction packages.\nMinimum:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.\n8 years of experience in design management and contract administration or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. \nProficiency and knowledge of commercial and contractual processes in large-scale infrastructure projects.\nExperience managing complex contracts and resolve disputes effectively.\nProficient in articulating ideas clearly, negotiate agreements, and manage stakeholder relationships.\nExperience analyzing problems, forecast risks, and implement solutions.\nExperience with invoice review, audit support, and grants management.\nPreferred:\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license.\nLegal or advanced commercial experience.\n15 years of experience in design management and contract administration.\nRail industry experience.\nExperience with alternate project delivery methods such as CMAR, design-build or P3 on major capital programs.\nExperience with infrastructure design and construction program and contract management experience with working knowledge of construction contracts, technical specifications and engineering drawing interpretations.\nExperience preparing and administering change orders, Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs), delay and impact claims.\nExperience supporting mediation, arbitration, and dispute resolution.\nKnowledgeable about federal competitive procurement processes and regulations.\nResults focused and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple project team members, consultants, and contractors for specific initiatives.\n Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position\nRelocation is an option for this position. \nAdherence to BPTR program policies is mandatory.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
