Join us.\n AECOM is actively seeking a motivated, hands-on Construction Materials & Quality Control Technician / Field Runner to support major transportation infrastructure projects throughout Utah. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and long-term performance of roadway and transportation improvements for the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and other public agency clients.\nIf you enjoy being outdoors, working on active construction projects, solving problems in the field, and contributing to projects that improve how communities move and connect, this opportunity offers a rewarding career path with exposure to some of Utah's most impactful infrastructure investments.\nIn this role, you will support construction teams by performing materials testing, documenting quality control activities, coordinating field operations, and assisting project staff with the collection and delivery of samples, reports, and project-related materials. You will work closely with inspectors, contractors, laboratory personnel, and project managers to help ensure construction activities meet project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.\nResponsibilities\nPerform field and laboratory testing of construction materials including concrete, asphalt, aggregate, soil, and other roadway materials.\nCollect, transport, and track material samples between project sites and testing laboratories.\nConduct daily field observations and inspections to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality requirements.\nMaintain accurate testing records, inspection reports, and project documentation.\nSupport quality assurance and quality control efforts on active construction projects.\nCoordinate with contractors, inspectors, laboratory staff, and project teams regarding testing schedules and project needs.\nAssist with monitoring construction activities and documenting project progress.\nParticipate in punch list activities, testing, and project closeout efforts.\nTrack quality-related issues and communicate findings to project stakeholders.\nUtilize experience and judgment to prioritize assignments and meet project deadlines.\nProvide on-the-job guidance and training to less experienced team members as needed.\nSafely operate company vehicles and travel to project sites throughout the region.\n Minimum Qualifications\nHigh School diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of related experienc e, or demonstrated equivalency through a combination of education and experience.\nA valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy.\nAs a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening\nAbility to lift and carry at least 50 pounds on a consistent basis.\nAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and active construction environments.\nPreferred Qualifications\nSRDTT Concrete Testing Certification.\nPrior UDOT construction inspection or materials testing experience.\nPrevious experience working with a municipal, county, or state transportation agency.\nExperience performing construction materials testing and quality control documentation.\nFamiliarity with roadway, bridge, and transportation construction projects.\nStrong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.\n Work Visa Sponsorship is not available for this role. \nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
