This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027.\nThe event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.\nOn Thursday, interviews will take place at our Raleigh office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\nAssist engineers and design staff with roadway and transportation infrastructure design projects\nSupport the preparation of engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documentation\nAssist with preliminary engineering calculations, quantity estimates, and design documentation\nUtilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to assist with the development and modification of engineering plans\nResearch applicable design standards, project requirements, and engineering criteria\nAssist with reviewing plans and technical documents for accuracy and completeness\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project coordination and deliverables\nPerform other related duties as assigned\nPerforms a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out tasks\nLimited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of science alternatives\n Minimum Qualifications:\nCandidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or related field with the intent to continue enrollment after the internship and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCompleted coursework in transportation engineering, roadway design, highway engineering, or related disciplines\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related engineering field from an accredited university\nBasic knowledge of civil engineering principles and transportation infrastructure\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a team\nFamiliarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or similar design software\nUnderstanding of roadway geometry, drainage, grading, or transportation design principles\nPrevious internship, academic project, or related experience in civil engineering or transportation design\n Relocation assistance is not available for this position.\nSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
