Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a talented and experienced Design Manager, Data Centers to be based out of any AECOM office with some telecommuting and expected travel. The qualified candidate will oversee a wide variety of colocation and hyper-scale data center projects from site due diligence, campus planning, conceptual/schematic/detailed design through construction documents, and construction administration. The ideal candidate has experience managing the design of colocation and hyper-scale data centers, has a background in electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering, and possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills.\nThis position offers the flexibility of a remote work schedule and can be based from a variety of locations in the US where AECOM has an office.\nAlthough the position is primarily remote periodic travel may be required for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other business-critical activities. This is a hands-on, client-facing role with an opportunity for upward career mobility.\nJob Responsibilities\nLead data center due diligence and design teams to deliver projects that meet the client’s requirements, on schedule and to a high degree of quality. Design disciplines will include architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, fire protection, ICT, and BMS/EPMS.\nDevelop and enforce multi-site project and program management plans.\nHost and attend meetings with clients and external stakeholders. \nProactively manage and communicate change throughout the project both within AECOM and to our clients.\nIdentify problems early and develop creative solutions.\nProactively communicate with all stakeholders to provide project updates and resolve outstanding issues.\nDevelop technical and financial proposals for new and add/move/change data center design projects\nDevelop trusting relationships with client stakeholders/buyers.\n Minimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, plus ten (10) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering\nProfessional Engineer (P.E.) or Architecture License\n12 years of relevant experience in design and/or project management\nLean Six Sigma Certification\nUptime Institute Accredited Tier Professional\nActive or recent leadership in data center and mission-critical trade organization\n12 years in colocation and/or hyper-scale data center design management & engineering\nExcellent communication (written/oral)\nAbility to work in dynamic, time-sensitive situations and with minimal oversight\nTeam leadership skills\nStrong interpersonal and presentation skills\n Relocation is not available for this position.\nWe are interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States.
