Join us.\n AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing Canadian Data Center practice. This role will support the design and delivery of hyperscale, colocation, and other mission-critical facilities across North America. This is a newly created position.\nThe successful candidate will contribute to the design of resilient electrical infrastructure while collaborating with experienced multidisciplinary Data Center teams across Canada, the U.S., and globally. This is an opportunity to develop specialized expertise in a rapidly growing sector while working on complex, high-performance facilities.\nResponsibilities\nDesign electrical systems for data centers and mission-critical facilities, including medium- and low-voltage distribution, emergency and standby power, UPS systems, grounding, lighting, and life-safety systems.\nPerform electrical load calculations, equipment sizing, voltage-drop calculations, and other engineering analyses.\nPrepare electrical plans, one-line diagrams, schedules, details, specifications, and supporting calculations.\nApply the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable building, energy, fire, and life-safety requirements.\nCoordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, technology, security, and other disciplines.\nSupport design criteria addressing reliability, redundancy, resiliency, maintainability, and capacity.\nParticipate in multidisciplinary design reviews, quality reviews, and project coordination meetings.\nSupport construction-phase services, including RFIs, submittal reviews, site observations, and resolution of technical issues.\nCoordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, utilities, and other project stakeholders.\nPerform work in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.\n rds.\n Minimum Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.\n4+ years of relevant electrical engineering or building electrical design experience, or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.\nExperience designing building electrical systems and preparing calculations, drawings, one-line diagrams, schedules, and technical documentation.\nWorking knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable building requirements.\nRegistered, or eligible to register, as a Professional Engineer within Canada.\nStrong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with hyperscale, colocation, mission-critical, healthcare, laboratory, industrial, or other complex facilities.\nExperience designing data center electrical systems and mission-critical power infrastructure.\nKnowledge of reliability, redundancy, resiliency, and maintainability concepts.\nExperience with medium-voltage distribution, generators, UPS systems, and automatic transfer systems.\nExperience with SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or equivalent power-system analysis software.\nExperience with short-circuit, coordination, arc-flash, or load-flow studies.\nFamiliarity with applicable CSA, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, and data center industry standa\n Relocation is not available for this position.\nSponsorship is not available for this position.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
