Join us.\n AECOM seeks an Electrical Engineer, Power Systems Analysis specializing in power system studies for grid-interconnected and islanded power generation projects. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and executing comprehensive analytical studies that assess the performance and reliability of power systems.\nAECOM's broad technical capabilities, global footprint and experience in executing large scale projects uniquely position us to lead in traditional steam, thermal power generation and advanced nuclear technologies. This includes being a part of the first-of-a-kind program with AECOM partners advancing the innovative stellarator technology to the world.\nhttps://aecom.com/press-releases/aecom-establishes-partnership-with-type-one-energy-to-provide-design-engineering-services-for-its-innovative-stellarator-fusion-power-plant-infinity-two/\nFor this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States.\nThe successful candidate will have a strong understanding and extensive experience in electrical engineering, controls design, and power generation projects.\nThe responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:\nResponsible for the electrical engineering design work on assigned projects\nServe as lead engineer on all size projects maintaining responsibility for deliverable development\nCoordination with the electrical design team to direct completion of engineering drawings (one-line diagrams, protection & control schemes, settings files, and metering/SCADA integration requirements)\nPerform steady-state and dynamic analyses, including load flow, short-circuit, contingency analysis, transient stability, frequency response, voltage stability, and motor starting.\nConduct protection and coordination studies, relay settings, arc flash assessments, and grounding studies in compliance with applicable standards.\nSupport interconnection applications including generator and inverter-based resources\nExecute islanded and microgrid analyses (black start, droop control, power-sharing, stability, protection, and resilience strategies).\nDevelop and validate models (PSSE/PSLF/DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, SKM, ASPEN, PSCAD) and prepare comprehensive study reports and presentations.\nEvaluate and optimize solutions for renewables, battery energy storage, CHP, and conventional generation projects.\nHome office and field support of projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning\nPerforms quality control reviews of work developed by others\nCollaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, controls, civil/structural, and construction) to integrate study results into design packages.\nParticipate in project and client meetings\nInteract with vendors, regulatory agencies and contractors\nAssist with internal and external presentations\nOccasional travel to client and/or project sites\nDCS-Energy\nAECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients. We connect knowledge and experience across our global framework to bring together a unique combination of engineers, planners, scientists, and project managers who advance cleaner, secure, and more sustainable energy solutions.\n MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\nBA/BS in Electrical Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nRelevant experience in mechanical engineering for power generation facilities\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nMasters Degree in Electrical Engineering\nProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license\n10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering for power generation facilities\nExperience in engineer and design of Combined Cycle Plants and Nuclear Generation Stations\nExpert familiarity with industry codes and standards (IEC, NFPA, NERC CIP).\nExperience with specifying electrical equipment and hardware\nStartup and Commissioning Field Experience\nProficiency with power system modeling software packages: ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, PSSE, DIgSILENT Aspen, etc.\nExperience working in collaborative model environments (e.g. Navisworks, BIM 360)\nDemonstrated experience in participating in complex, multi-discipline programs/projects\nSuccessful experience working in remote and multi-discipline teams\n Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.\nRelocation is not available for this position.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
