The role focuses on governance, quality surveillance, progress monitoring, interface coordination, and compliance verification while execution remains the responsibility of the EPC contractor.\nConstruction & Installation Monitoring\nMonitor site readiness and installation activities for transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, reactors, control and relay panels, busbars, cable systems, earthing systems, and auxiliary equipment.\nVerify compliance of installation works with approved drawings, technical specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and project quality requirements.\nMonitor cable laying, termination, glandings, control wiring, panel erection, equipment alignment, and associated electrical works.\nCoordinate installation interfaces with Civil Engineers, Transmission Line Engineers, Utility/Grid Coordinators, HSE teams, and Commissioning Engineers.\nTesting & Commissioning Readiness\nWitness allocated factory/site acceptance tests, pre-commissioning checks, and electrical testing activities.\nVerify testing readiness documentation, approved procedures, punch-list closure, and availability of required statutory approvals.\nMonitor protection system testing, interlock verification, SCADA integration, control system readiness, and communication interfaces.\nReview commissioning schedules and identify constraints impacting energization milestones.\nCompliance & Governance\nTrack statutory approvals, utility interfaces, grid compliance requirements, and regulatory submissions affecting energization readiness.\nMonitor implementation of safety procedures, permit systems, LOTO requirements, and HSE compliance during construction and testing activities.\nVerify completion dossiers, as-built documentation, inspection records, test reports, and handover documentation.\nReporting & Status Management\nMaintain substation completion status, punch lists, testing progress, statutory approvals, and energization readiness records.\nPrepare progress reports, risk registers, issue logs, and management dashboards for client review.\nEscalate quality, safety, schedule, and technical risks impacting project objectives.\nPrincipal Client-Facing Deliverables\nSubstation Construction Inspection Reports.\nEquipment Installation Progress Reports.\nQuality Surveillance and Compliance Reports.\nTesting and Commissioning Readiness Assessments.\nProtection & Control System Status Reports.\nPunch List and Defect Closure Reports.\nStatutory Approval and Compliance Tracking Reports.\nEnergization Readiness Reports.\nHandover and Completion Status Reports.\nRequired Technical Competencies\nAIS/GIS Substation Construction Monitoring\nPower Transformers and Reactors\nHV/EHV Switchgear Systems\nProtection, Control & SCADA Systems\nCable Systems and Terminations\nEarthing and Lightning Protection Systems\nElectrical Testing & Pre-Commissioning\nGrid Compliance and Statutory Requirements\nQuality Assurance / Quality Control\nConstruction Documentation & Reporting\n Experience\n5 to 10 Years\nEducation\nB.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline.\nDiploma in Electrical Engineering may be considered with extensive substation project experience.\n High Voltage (HV/EHV) Substation Systems\nElectrical Safety and LOTO (Lock-Out/Tag-Out)\nTesting & Commissioning of Substation Equipment\nProtection & Control Systems\nGIS/AIS Substation Training\nCEA and Statutory Compliance Requirements\nHSE Training for Construction Sites\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
