Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineering Discipline Lead with an electrical engineering and instrumentation & controls background to be based in the Denver, Colorado, Salt Lake City, Utah, Phoenix or Tucson, Arizona to support mining projects and to help lead and build a team of electrical engineers to support mining projects.\nJob Summary/Responsibilities\nProvides technical leadership for a specialty and is considered to be a fully capable professional in their field. \nApplies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.\nMakes decisions independently on technical problems and methods and represents the organization in conferences. \nResolves important questions and plans and coordinates work. \nUtilize advanced techniques and the modifications and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines. \nReceives direction on unusual conditions and developments.\nProvides project leadership in the areas of instrumentation & controls, electrical engineering and design, investigations, analysis on multi-disciplinary mining projects.\nServe as lead electrical engineer or discipline lead on mid- to large-size projects.\nCoordinate and direct staff on designs, specifications, drawings, figures, reports and calculations on multi-discipline design efforts.\nWork with existing and potential clients to provide instrumentation & controls, electrical engineering and design solutions for mining projects.\nDevelop project proposals and work with mining business leader to support and grow the Mining practice.\nProvides direction and mentoring to technical staff in completing project tasks.\nSupervision and guidance relate largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. \nProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.\nProvides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.\nPresents complex technical solutions to clients.\nPerforms independent technical reviews of engineering reports and design and signs off on work.\nPlan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering project, focusing on the electrical and Instrumentation and control designs of mine projects.\nProvides advice and consultation to clients on engineering matters, including compliance with government laws and regulations.\nMinimum Requirements\nBachelor's degree in electrical engineering + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.\nA valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPE in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, or ability to acquire a PE in additional states.\nOn-site field experience in commissioning and start-ups for facilities\nMaster’s in electrical engineering or related field of study\n10+ years or more of relevant experience\nMSHA New Miner training\nDemonstrated progressive experience in electrical engineering, design, modeling, and construction documentation.\nProgressive project experience including task leadership and project management roles on design and design-build projects.\nAbility to serve as primary point of contact with the client and develop client relationships.\nLead designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, construction specifications, and final working drawings.\nWork with CAD designers to produce construction-level drawings.\nStrong written and oral communication, quantitative and people skills\nStrong work ethic and professional demeanor.\nInitiative-taking on assignments and demonstrate initiative.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision, and complete multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines.\nEstimate and scope electrical engineering projects.\nPerform work in accordance with agreed upon scope, budget, and schedule.\nTrack and manage task budgets and schedules.\nAuthor reports and prepare/or direct preparation of detailed calculation packages including proper documentation and references.\nMust be resourceful, highly organized, professional with attention to detail and people.\n Sponsorship will not be provided for this role now or in the future.\nRelocation is not provided for this role.\nWillingness to travel to domestic and international locations for projects.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
