Join us.\n Job Description\nAECOM is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead, Data Centers to join our growing Canadian Data Center team.\nThis individual will lead the electrical design and delivery of hyperscale, colocation, and other mission-critical facilities throughout North America and globally. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader, client advisor, mentor, and project contributor, helping to grow AECOM's rapidly expanding Data Center practice. This is a newly created position.\nThis position can be performed remotely from anywhere in Canada with periodic travel for client meetings, project milestones, site visits, and team collaboration activities.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead electrical design for hyperscale and mission-critical data center facilities.\nDevelop design criteria, basis-of-design documentation, and electrical engineering standards.\nLead medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution system design.\nDesign and evaluate standby generation, UPS, and emergency power systems.\nPerform load analyses, capacity planning, power system modeling, and system optimization studies.\nDevelop and maintain engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documentation.\nReview and approve engineering deliverables and technical submissions.\nAct as Engineer of Record where applicable.\nEnsure compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code, CSA standards, provincial regulations, and applicable industry standards.\nMentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers and designers.\nCoordinate with multidisciplinary project teams across Canada and globally.\nSupport business development activities, proposals, and client presentations.\nLead technical discussions with clients, contractors, utilities, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.\nDevelop engineering budgets, schedules, and resource plans.\nDrive technical excellence, innovation, and quality across projects.\nBuild and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to practice growth.\nAdditional Assets\nLEED Accredited Professional designation.\nExperience with Uptime Institute standards and mission-critical design principles.\nExperience supporting projects across multiple provinces and jurisdictions.\nExperience working on international data center programs.\nDemonstrated success developing and mentoring high-performing technical teams.\nWhy Join AECOM\nWork on some of the world's most complex hyperscale and mission-critical projects.\nCollaborate with industry-leading specialists across a global network.\nHelp shape and grow AECOM's Canadian Data Center practice.\nLead innovative projects for leading technology and cloud providers.\nAccess career advancement opportunities within a rapidly expanding market sector.\nEnjoy flexible work arrangements and a collaborative team environment.\nParticipate in creating sustainable, resilient, and future-focused digital infrastructure.\n Minimum Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in a Canadian province.\nMinimum 8 (eight) years of progressive electrical engineering experience.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary engineering design projects.\nStrong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable industry standards.\nStrong communication, leadership, and client management skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\n15+ years of electrical engineering experience.\n5 years of experience supporting mission-critical, data center, or other critical facility projects.\nExtensive hyperscale, colocation, or mission-critical facility experience.\nExperience serving as Engineer of Record.\nMedium-voltage distribution design experience.\nUtility coordination and interconnection experience.\nArc flash, short-circuit, and protection coordination study experience.\nProficiency with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or equivalent power system analysis software.\nExperience with Revit, ACC, BIM 360, or other digital delivery platforms.\nDesign-build project delivery experience.\nCommissioning and startup support experience.\nStrong business development and pursuit support experience.\nExperience leading client relationships on large, complex projects.\n Remote work arrangement available anywhere in Canada.\nPeriodic travel is required for client meetings, project milestones, site visits, and business development activities.\nSponsorship may be considered for qualified candidates where legally permitted.\nAECOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer and believes in each person's potential.
