Join us.\n Job Summary\nWe are seeking a motivated Planning Engineer to support project cost, schedule, performance, and financial control activities. The role will work closely with project teams to monitor budgets, commitments, expenditures, progress, forecasts, and cost and schedule performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project controls fundamentals, financial concepts, cost management, earned value management, scheduling, change management, and project reporting.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport project financial systems, processes, procedures, and reporting requirements.\nApply financial terminology, measurements, financial data analysis concepts, and principles to project assignments.\nIdentify project activities, changes, and actions that may have financial or cost impacts.\nDevelop and maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for small projects.\nAssist in establishing project baseline data using engineering drawings, specifications, scope documents, and other project information.\nMonitor project costs and schedules and perform basic cost and schedule variance analysis.\nSupport the development and maintenance of project cost and schedule baselines.\nApply basic accounting principles to project cost and financial activities.\nCollect and analyze project data for trending, forecasting, and performance analysis.\nParticipate in the collection, validation, and review of project progress and performance data.\nSupport the application of Earned Value Management (EVM), scope control, and change management methodologies.\nAnalyze manpower requirements, labor hours, and labor costs against approved project budgets.\nTrack actual project costs against approved funding and budget limitations.\nMonitor purchase orders, commitments, subcontract costs, and project expenditures.\nSupport the tracking and analysis of project revenue, costs, commitments, and forecasts.\nAssist with project scheduling activities and maintain an understanding of schedule performance and critical project milestones.\nSupport the integration of project cost and schedule information for performance management.\nAssist in identifying and assessing the financial impact of scope changes and project changes.\nPrepare and support regular project cost, schedule, and performance reports.\nParticipate in project cost review meetings and provide relevant project cost and performance information.\nMaintain accurate project control data and ensure information is available for management decision-making.\n Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, accounting, business administration, construction management, project management, or a related discipline.\nRelevant professional certifications in project controls, cost management, scheduling, or earned value management are an advantage.\n7-10 years of relevant experience in project controls, cost control, project planning, project finance, cost engineering, or a related field.\nUnderstanding of project controls and cost management principles.\nKnowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysis.\nBasic understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM).\nKnowledge of WBS, cost and schedule baselines, and progress measurement.\nUnderstanding of project scope control and change management.\nAbility to analyze manpower, labor hours, and labor costs.\nUnderstanding of purchase orders, subcontract commitments, and project expenditures.\nBasic knowledge of accounting and financial principles.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nGood communication and reporting skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other project reporting tools.\nFamiliarity with project scheduling and cost-control software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems is an advantage.\n At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
