Join us.\n AECOM is seeking an experienced Utilities Engineer for a major Roads and Bridges project located in Dubai. The Utilities Engineer will be a key member of AECOM’s construction supervision team for RTA projects in Dubai, focusing on the supervision, coordination, and quality control of wet and dry utilities works. The role involves ensuring that all utility works comply with RTA standards, project specifications, and authority requirements, while maintaining strict safety and quality control on-site. The Utilities Engineer will coordinate closely with contractors, utility authorities, and the project team to ensure timely and compliant execution of works.\nRoles and Responsibility\nCoordinate utility protection, diversion, and reinstatement works within RTA road corridors.\nEnsure compliance with RTA utility corridor layouts, depth clearances, and reinstatement standards.\nInterface with traffic management and staging plans to maintain safe utility works near live roads.\nSupport RTA inspections and audits related to MEP and utility installation\nReview and approve shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical proposals related to MEP and utility services in compliance with project specifications and authority requirements.\nEnsure all MEP and utility installations are executed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, RTA standards, and local authority regulations (DEWA, Etisalat, DU, Dubai Municipality, etc.).\nCoordinate with utility authorities for NOCs, service diversions, connections, shutdowns, and inspections.\nManage interface coordination between utilities, civil, structural, roadworks, and traffic diversion works to avoid clashes and delays.\nMonitor contractor performance to ensure quality, safety, and progress targets are met.\nConduct site inspections, issue site instructions, NCRs, and observations, and ensure timely corrective actions.\nVerify testing and commissioning activities for MEP systems, including pressure testing, flushing, energization, and final authority approvals.\nEnsure compliance with HSE requirements, particularly during live utility works, trenching, and tie-in activities.\nReview and certify utility-related WIRs, test results, and inspection records prior to approvals.\nTrack long-lead MEP items, authority approvals, and material deliveries to mitigate schedule risks.\nAttend progress, technical, and coordination meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.\nReview and validate as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation for utilities and MEP systems.\nSupport project close-out by ensuring final utility connections, authority clearances, and completion certificates are obtained.\nProvide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and inspectors.\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.\n\nValid UAE Society of Engineers membership preferred.\n\nMinimum 10 years of relevant experience in utility works for major infrastructure projects.\n\nMinimum 5 years of experience in Dubai, with proven track record in RTA projects.\n\nPrevious RTA Approval is advantageous\n\nPrior experience in coordinating with multiple authorities (RTA, DEWA, Etisalat, DU, DM, etc.).\n\n At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
