Join us.\n AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern to be based in Coral Gables, FL.\nThe successful candidate will support the highway design teams in South Florida by working with different disciplines to complete a variety of projects. Additionally, AECOM’s dedication to innovation and sustainability enables interns to contribute to meaningful projects that help shape communities and the built environment.\nThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:\nAssist in the planning, design, and implementation of transportation projects for a variety of clients.\nAssist with discrete work tasks required in preparation of roadway design set of plans.\nCreate designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.\nCarry out engineering analyses and prepare reports and technical specifications under the supervision of an experienced engineer.\nWork collaboratively within project teams to ensure project objectives are met within the defined scope, schedule, and budget.\nCollect and analyze data, perform field work, and undertake site inspections under the supervision of an experienced engineer.\nAttend site visits and meetings in clients’ offices.\nMaintain project records and files, contribute to the preparation of progress reports, and communicate project and task updates to team members and supervisors as needed.\nWork under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level member.\n Minimum Requirements:\nCandidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or another related field and must have completed at least 2 years of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nDegree emphasis in transportation engineering preferred.\nAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.\nDemonstrate growth potential as well as a desire to learn.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office programs.\nProficient in AutoCAD, ORD, Civil 3D, or other engineering software packages.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nDetail-oriented while still being able to understand and comply with the big picture and goals of a project.\nDocuments time and effort accurately.\nInterest in transportation infrastructure design.\n Relocation assistance is not available for this position.\nSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.\nThis position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Coral Gables, FL.
