Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a Engineering Intern to join our team in Chicago, Illinois.\nThis position is expected to begin in May 2027.\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:\nWork on projects such as planning and design for streets and transit infrastructure improvements.\nCAD design, quantity calculations, and preparation of plan drawings.\nInternships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. \nInterns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study\nIntern 2 - completion of second year of qualified study\n MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\nCandidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and must have completed at least two years of study . Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.\nValid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.\nAs a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads.\nBasic knowledge of transportation topics.\nWillingness to pursue an Engineer-in-Training certification upon graduation by having passed or have a plan to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.\nGood interpersonal skills, good command of the English language both verbally and written, the ability to express thoughts clearly, good time management skills, and a good attitude toward work.\nAbility to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required.\n Sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available for this position.\nRelocation assistance is not available for this role.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
