Join us.\n AECOM Burnaby is hiring a highly experienced Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC) Manager to oversee and coordinate engineering support throughout the construction phase of a major transit infrastructure project involving elevated guideway & stations, power propulsion substations, and ancillary site works associated with such infrastructure.\nThe successful candidate will support a multidisciplinary team of engineers and specialists to ensure technical compliance, issue resolution, and able to work with contractors to convey design intent, address constructability issues in coordination with engineers/architects, and change management while driving requirements and obligations associated with Engineer of Record needs for project close-out.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and manage the ESDC services providing engineering support across stations, guideway, and PPS during construction.\nManage and coordinate engineering support throughout construction to fulfill professional and contractual obligations. \nManage client expectations regarding engineering support and ensure alignment with project objectives. \nCoordinate timely responses to Site Queries (SQs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Instructions, construction submittals, and other construction-related technical queries. \nReview and manage engineering effort, monthly progress, and invoices associated with ESDC services. \nCoordinate with multidisciplinary design teams and specialty subconsultants to resolve construction-phase technical issues. \nWork collaboratively with contractors to communicate design intent and resolve constructability challenges. \nEnsure designated field personnel respond to engineering related construction quality needs as required (Inspection Test Plans...etc.) \nEstablish and/or manage workflows for SQs, construction document reviews, record drawings, construction certificates, and other ESDC deliverables. \nMonitor ESDC procedures throughout construction and recommend process improvements where appropriate. \nCollaborate with the Document Control team to ensure all post-Issued for Construction (IFC) technical decisions, field changes, and design revisions are properly documented. \nConfirm the accuracy and completeness of project close-out documentation. \nCollaborate with the Contractor and Client to support project close-out, and final handover activities. \nReport regularly on construction-phase engineering activities, risks, and key performance indicators to project leadership. \n Minimum Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience supporting engineering or contract administration activities during construction on complex infrastructure or building projects. \nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration in BC. \nPreferred Qualifications\n12+ years of engineering or construction-phase support experience on major infrastructure projects. \nUnderstanding and able to manage the processing of SQs, NCRs, construction submittals, and other construction-phase technical documentation. \nExperience working with multidisciplinary teams and coordinating between design and construction teams. \nUnderstanding of construction methods, sequencing, and constructability considerations. \nLead and manage the ESDC services providing engineering support across stations, guideway, and PPS during construction.\nManage and coordinate design team field presence requirements to fulfill professional obligations.\nExperience delivering projects using Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, Alliance, or P3 delivery models. \nExperience working and leading teams in an engineering consultancy environment. \nExperience supporting contract administration or engineering services during construction on complex multidisciplinary projects. \nDemonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams during construction. \nExcellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills. \n Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position. \nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
