Join us.\n AECOM Buildings + Places is seeking anEntry-Level Structural Engineer to be based inVirginia Beach, VA. The ideal candidate will provide support on a diverse array of exciting projects, developing calculations, drawings, and reports. This role will encompass a wide range of projects across various industries, including government, commercial, and industrial sectors. Additionally, the position offers substantial mentorship opportunities while enhancing technical expertise in structural engineering.\nThis position is expected to begin as soon as possible.\nAbout Buildings + Places\nAECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture in a dynamic, interactive, and creative work environment.\nWith a range of expertise from strategy and design through project realization, we create better outcomes to grow economies, protect natural systems, conserve natural resources, make societies more equitable and connect and engage people through innovative, sustainable design solutions.\nThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:\nAssist in the completion of a variety of structural engineering projects.\nPerform structural calculations and contract drawings for multiple project types under the supervision of a senior structural engineer.\nApply structural modeling using FEA analysis software under the direction of a lead structural engineer.\nAssist with condition assessments and structural investigations.\nAssist with construction administration activities including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site observations.\nEnsure project assignments are completed on schedule.\nCollaborate with team members and develop technical expertise from industry experts.\nBuild essential skills to transition to a design professional.\n Minimum Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited program.\nValid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.\nDue to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrevious related internship or professional experience is a plus.\nFundamentals of Engineering (FE) license.\nExperience with Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.\nStrong written and oral communication skills.\nSelf-motivated with strong work ethic.\n Relocation assistance is not available for this position.\nThis position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Virginia Beach, VA.
