Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level Traction Power Engineer to join our team in Philadelphia, PA.\nThis position is expected to begin as soon as possible.\nThis role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the design, analysis of DC or AC traction power systems for railways, light rail transit (LRT), or other electrified transportation networks. The candidate will work closely with experienced engineers and contribute to real-world projects, gaining practical knowledge in a dynamic and challenging environment.\nThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:\nAssist senior engineers in the design and analysis of traction power distribution systems, including substations, overhead catenary systems (OCS), and third rail systems.\nSupport the development of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation).\nPerform calculations related to voltage drop, current flow, and power system performance.\nAssist in the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.\nConduct field inspections and site visits to gather data and observe construction activities.\nAssist in the testing and commissioning of traction power equipment.\nAssist in the preparation of as-built drawings and documentation.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.\nCollaborate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.\nEnsure compliance with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., NESC, IEEE).\nMaintain accurate project records and documentation.\nMinimum Requirements:\nBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or in another related field.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in performing Traction Power projects.\nElectrical Engineering Degree with a focus on Power Systems.\nEngineering in Training (EIT) License.\nStrong work ethic and attention to detail.\nAbility to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.\nDesire to work in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.\nBasic understanding of electrical power systems and circuit analysis and electrical theory.\nFamiliarity with AC and DC power concepts.\nStrong interest in railway or transit systems.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills. \nKnowledge of power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM PowerTools).\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nFamiliarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting software is a plus.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.\n Relocation assistance is not available for this position.\nSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. \nThis position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Philadelphia, PA.
