Join us.\n AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Water/Wastewater Engineer to be based in Dallas, Texas.\nThis position is expected to begin in May or June 2027.\nThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:\nProvides technical support for a variety of utility design related projects, including treatment plants, pump/booster stations, water line and collection line design, rehabilitation, master planning, and construction administration.\nCreates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.\nWork under the supervision of a senior project manager in the water/wastewater/water resources practice or senior-level team members.\nUtilize basic engineering principles, judgment, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems.\nWork on routine or detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and engineering analyses.\nPerform work with little supervision.\nPropose approaches to solve new problems.\nIdentify discrepancies in outcomes, results, and analysis of engineering tasks.\nParticipates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.\nRecord field data using tablets and GPS units.\nRecord and interpret data, conduct analyses, prepare reports, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.\nPerform data gathering site visits, field measurements, mapping, and observations during construction.\nPerforms quality control review of design calculations or drawings.\nSoftware use includes, but is not limited to: AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Bentley and/or hydraulic modeling packages.\nMinimum Requirements\nBachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering + none or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nA valid U.S. Driver’s License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. \nDue to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.\nPreferred Qualifications\nProgressive experience with water/wastewater utility planning, modeling, condition assessment, and design.\nBasic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models).\nDemonstrated time management skills, work ethic and attention to detail.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to communicate and coordinate effectively with technicians, designers, engineers, and project managers for the preparation of high-quality work products.\nAbility to communicate and coordinate with clients, subconsultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public as may be necessary to accomplish assigned objectives.\nAbility to work productively in a collaborative team environment,and demonstrate growth potential as well as a desire to learn.\nDetail oriented while still able to understand/comply with the big picture/goals of a project.\nAbility to multi-task.\nFlexible - can adapt to shifting priorities / work schedules.\nAble to work independently.\nSelf-learner.\nCan take direction from others and in turn can provide guidance to others.\n Relocation assistance is not available for this position.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
