Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a mid-level Geologist/Hydrogeologist for our Borger, Texas field office. Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant environmental consulting or related experience and a strong interest in field-based work. This role supports multiple environmental projects within a collaborative, safety-focused culture, with opportunities for professional growth. The successful candidate will contribute to the execution of both routine and complex assessment, investigation, and remediation activities, strengthening AECOM’s commitment to technical excellence, advancement of innovative technologies, and regulatory compliance.\nThe position includes a balance of field and office responsibilities. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility across diverse projects, strong commitment to health and safety, and the ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.\nResponsibilities:\nConducting site characterization and remedial investigation of surface and subsurface impacts using data collected from soil borings, test pits, surface and borehole geophysical surveys, aquifer testing, and sampling of environmental media (e.g., soil, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, and air) for field screening and laboratory analysis\nPreparing soil boring logs, interpreting vadose zone and groundwater characteristics, identifying pathways to environmental receptors, preparing technical site investigation reports, and supporting the development of remedial action plans based on site investigation data\nManaging field sample chain-of-custody documentation, packaging, and shipping to laboratories\nOverseeing contractor field tasks related to site investigation and remediation activities\nSupporting the coordination of field activities, including utility locating, surveying, and oversight of investigation and remediation projects under the direction and guidance of project managers\nCommunicating effectively with project team members and subcontractors, and support client notifications related to change in field conditions.\nBuilding experience toward professional licensure (e.g., TX PG) and/or Site Safety Officer certification.\nProactively recognizing and appropriately addressing health and safety issues affecting the entire team\nDriving quality control of assigned tasks or small segments of a project.\n Minimum Requirements:\nBachelor of Science degree in geology or relevant geological science discipline (e.g., hydrogeology, geochemistry, soil science, or geological/environmental engineering) AND 2 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. \nA valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy\nUS Citizen/US Permanent Resident. \nSuccessful candidate will undergo background check, and drug assessment required by client. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nPosition is permanently based at the AECOM Borger Field Office and requires residence within a 60-mile commuting radius of the Borger, TX facility. \nMinimum 3 years of environmental investigation and remediation experience needed.\nExperience conducting environmental site assessments, site characterization, subsurface investigations, and remediation projects through the TCEQ Texas Risk Reduction Program.\nExperience working at an active refinery site.\nKnowledge of environmental sampling methods and experience using field equipment (e.g., GPS, PID, 4-gas meter, digit data collection, etc.).\nExperience performing independent field work and providing oversight of contractor field activities.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with experience documenting and reporting technical data and safety observations.\nProficient with basic computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)\nPrevious experience managing and tracking hazardous and non-hazardous waste for offsite transport and disposal.\n40 hour OSHA HAZWOPER certificate or annual refresher certificate.\n10 hour and/or 30 hour OSHA Construction Supervisory certificate.\nFirst Aid/CPR certificate.\n Sponsorship for this role now or in the future is not available. \nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
