Join us.\n AECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist to be based out of our Fort Collins or Denver office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line. This position is expected to begin within a month.\nIn this role, the selected applicant will be responsible for working on investigation and remediation projects while managing AECOM staff, subcontractors, technical delivery, stakeholder engagement/communication, and financial management.\nThe selected candidate will also assist project and program management with design and implementation of soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water investigative and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation.\nThis position will also assist in the performance of regulatory compliance inspections, sampling, and reporting associated with the implementation of permit and/or regulator requirements for commercial/industrial facilities.\nThe job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:\nPerforms standard and more advanced scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.\nDetect problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc. \nConducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists. \nProposes appropriate analytical methods and techniques. Assists in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge. \nDraw conclusions and make recommendations based on analysis.\nCollaborate with team members and project managers to meet client needs on schedule and within budget.\nUtilize various techniques to generate data from remedial or investigative field work.\nField work includes but is not limited soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, soil boring/monitoring well installations with various drilling techniques (i.e., DPT, HSA, sonic, air rotary, mud-rotary, etc.), operations and maintenance of remedial systems, etc.\nInterprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.\nMentor and train junior staff.\nWork independently or with minimal direction to prepare draft technical documents.\nFlexible with working extended hours and locations, travel may be greater than 50 percent of time (local to Colorado however). \n Minimum Requirements\nBA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nValid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review\nDue to the nature of this work, U.S. Citizenship is required.\nMedical Surveillance is required\nSuccessful candidates must pass a pre employment drug screen\nPreferred Qualifications\n7+ years of experience performing and leading site investigations that included soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, soil boring/monitoring well installations with various drilling techniques analytical data interpretation and reporting.\nUnderstanding of site assessment and remediation associated with upstream oil and gas sites.\nKnowledge of Colorado ECMC regulations.\nExperience with groundwater modeling and numeric computing environments\nCurrent Professional Licensure, certifications, and/or accreditations\nFamiliarity with Colorado and Federal Environmental Regulations\nOSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.\nExperience and confidence to work independently to produce high-quality deliverables on time and on budget.\nProficient technical writing (remedial investigation reports, corrective action studies, etc.)\n No sponsorship will be provided for this role\nNo relocation is provided with this role.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
