Join us.\n AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Technician I to join our Remediation team in Jacksonville, FL. You will work on a diverse range of projects delivering remediation system solutions to our key clients. This position will involve travel throughout the region on a regular basis.\nThe successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team. In addition, the successful candidate will be committed to the team’s success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.\nThe role requires a strong mechanical and safety aptitude, and the candidate must have experience working with plumbing, electrical, and general construction related trades. Duties include (but will not be limited to) equipment maintenance coordination, remediation system maintenance, and environmental sampling activities. Although this is a field position that involves significant equipment maintenance and construction related activities, there will be direct interaction with clients and the candidate must have experience communicating with clients on a professional level.\nThe job responsibilities for the position will include but are not limited to the following:\nPerforms standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations.\nConducts a variety of standardized tests and may prepare specimens; Sets up and operates standard laboratory testing equipment of moderate complexity.\nRecords test data and provides observation and interpretations of it.\nPerforms fieldwork, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.\nOther activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\nHS + 0 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nAbility to work outdoors, often in inclement weather conditions\nValid US Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must pass the AECOM Motor Vehicle screening\nAs a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening\nPREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:\nStrong mechanical aptitude and experience with soil and groundwater remediation technologies, design, implementation, and operation/maintenance activities \nExperience operating and maintaining soil and groundwater remediation equipment\nCurrent 40-hr HazWOPER Certification and associated refresher\nCurrent First Aid, CPR and AED certification\nStrong understanding of project documentation requirements including taking organized and detailed field notes, recording observations\n Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.\nRelocation is not available for this position.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
