These projects span a diverse range of construction sectors.\nWorking within a dynamic, highly motivated and driven team, you will be part of our project delivery. As a Fire & Risk Engineer, you will contribute to the winning, and delivery of moderate to large scale projects.\nThis role will define and deliver advanced fire safety solutions across the full lifecycle of buildings and industrial facilities, combining rigorous code compliance with performance-based engineering and deep materials behaviour knowledge.\nThe Fire & Risk Engineer will:\nDevelop and review fire protection designs throughout all project phases, including concept, basic, and detailed engineering.\nPerform fire risk assessments and support fire engineering studies.\nParticipate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings and provide fire protection expertise.\nReview contractor and vendor submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.\nDesign and specify passive fire protection systems.\nReview architectural and structural drawings for compliance with fire compartmentation requirements.\nDesign and review fire detection and alarm systems.\nPrepare detection layouts, cause-and-effect matrices, and system narratives.\nCoordinate detection strategies for high-risk and mission-critical environments.\nSupport system testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities.\nReview integration requirements with building management, security, and emergency systems.\nDesign and review active fire protection systems.\nPerform hydraulic calculations and support system sizing activities.\nReview vendor calculations, technical submittals, and equipment selections.\n Will hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Fire Protection Engineering or a closely related discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or Structural with fire specialization).\nFluent in English is required (verbal and written)\nTechnical background, minimum 3 years related Fire Protection Design Engineering.\nWill demonstrate experience with international and local codes/standards (e.g., NFPA suite, IFC/IBC, EN/BS, FM Global Data Sheets), including performance-based design frameworks and equivalency methodologies.\n At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
