Join us.\n Job Summary\nAECOM is actively seeking a talented, energetic technology minded Geographic Information System (GIS) professional for immediate employment in the MCB Camp Lejeune Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) office as a seconded employee.\nThe position will be on-site at MCB Camp Lejeune, near Jacksonville, North Carolina.\nThe GIS Specialist is a full-time AECOM employee that will report to the GIS Manager in the Technology Services Group and will support our United States Marine Corps (USMC) client within the Environment Business line. This position will be part of a team of GIS Specialists supporting the MCB Camp Lejeune IGI&S Program and other functional areas (e.g. environment, facilities) with GIS data management, geospatial analysis and modeling, development of web-based solutions, cartographic product development, and technical support. A successful candidate will work both independently and in close coordination with the local USMC IGI&S manager and the AECOM project team to develop, deploy and support GIS across the installation.\n· Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nProvide comprehensive geospatial services in a fast-paced, professional environment with a high-level of visibility to senior leadership.\nFollow project plans to successfully execute assigned work\nWork with other staff to ensure quality in all work products\nDesign geospatial solutions using a variety of Esri products, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, and Portal for ArcGIS.\nDevelop and maintain Portal for ArcGIS web-based geospatial content and apps to support data-driven decision making\nDesign and implement quality assurance procedures to complete technical quality reviews of GIS data and applications\nMaintain quality assurance of spatial and non-spatial data and processes as per defined standards\nMaintain strong knowledge in existing and emerging GIS related software and technologies\nCreate and maintain GIS data in an ArcGIS Enterprise environment\nAuthor automated processing tools (Python, Model Builder) for use with repetitive or complex tasks\nCommunicate and collaborate with the project manager, project team, and client stakeholders to understand and document system and solution requirements\nMeet with subject matter specialists to discuss topics, such as technical specifications, customized solutions, and operational problems\nIndependently execute and delivers GIS projects of moderate to significant scope and complexity\nPerform technical reviews to validate data are compliant with the Marine Corps implementation of the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) vector data model\nMaintain a digital GIS Program Binder detailing the processes and actions involved in completing assigned duties\nDevelop visualizations and reports using tools such as Power BI, ArcGIS Pro, or Portal for ArcGIS to effectively communicate findings to technical and nontechnical stakeholders\nHave excellent critical thinking, decision-making, conflict resolution, and analytical skills\nSolid understanding of geospatial data formats, coordinate systems, and GIS principles\nApply attention to detail with proactive and resourceful problem-solving skills\nPrepare meeting materials, web maps, or figures for a variety of communities, stakeholders, and projects\nCreate, edit, or delete GIS features/attribute information within an enterprise geodatabase\nPrepare digital maps\n Minimum Requirements\nBachelor's Degree in CAD, BIM, GIS, Computer Science, Geography, Environmental Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.\nDue to the nature of work, US citizenship is required.\nValid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.\nGIS experience\nPreferred Qualifications\nProficiency with applications such as:ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and Desktop Software\nPortal for ArcGIS / ArcGIS Online\nMicrosoft Office Applications\nExperience with AutoCAD Civil 3D/AutoCAD Map\n\nPython scripting for process automation\nComfortable working outside occasionally to support field activities\nComfortable working in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment\nMaintain knowledge in existing and emerging geospatial software and technologies\nGIS data management, technical writing, and geodatabase design experience\nGeneral understanding of relational database organization, design, and functionality\nAbility to learn and present best practices for data management including workflows, tools, governance models, and integration patterns\nDemonstrated knowledge of cartographic design and production concepts and principles\nDemonstrated experience with the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE)\n Additional information\nRelocation is not available for this position\nSponsorship is not available for this position\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
