Join us.\n Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer, with emphasis on heavy water systems and aquatic engineering applications.\nGathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures, including water quality metrics, system performance indicators, and heavy water operational parameters.\nWorks on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations, testing, and analysis related to water treatment systems and heavy water operations.\nProposes approaches to solve new problems encountered in water systems using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.\nIdentifies discrepancies in results and troubleshoots water system performance issues.\nProvides guidance to entry-level engineers on heavy water systems, water treatment protocols, and related technical procedures.\nPerforms work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision, ensuring compliance with water safety and environmental standards.\nIndependently performs all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for water systems and heavy water engineering works.\nPerformance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position with demonstrated heavy water or advanced water systems expertise.\n **Required Qualifications:**\nMinimum 10 years of professional experience in water engineering, heavy water systems, or related aquatic engineering disciplines\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field\nDemonstrated expertise in water treatment systems design, operation, and optimization\nProven experience with heavy water systems, isotope separation, or advanced water processing technologies\nStrong proficiency in engineering calculations, system analysis, and technical troubleshooting\nExperience with water quality assessment, monitoring, and compliance standards\nAbility to work independently on complex engineering assignments with minimal supervision\nExcellent technical writing and documentation skills\nDemonstrated mentoring or leadership experience with junior engineering staff\n**Preferred Qualifications:**\nMaster's degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering\nProfessional Engineer (PE) licensure or equivalent certification\nExperience with regulatory compliance and environmental safety standards in water systems\nFamiliarity with CAD software and engineering modeling tools\nBackground in project management and budget oversight\nExperience in research and development of innovative water treatment solutions\nKnowledge of industrial or nuclear water systems applications\n At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
