Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a creative and highly talented Mechanical Engineer for immediate employment in our Dallas or Houston, TX office.\nThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:\nLeading or assisting with the design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as plumbing systems for DoD, and Mission Critical Facility projects.\nPerform Construction Administration services, including review of shop drawings, RFI’s and review of contractor proposed change orders\nEvaluate feasibility of alternative design approaches in conjunction with senior team members\nPerform site/field visits to ascertain existing conditions including equipment condition evaluations\nOrganize/plan projects to ensure quality controls and project criteria are met and within budget \nAssist in preparing proposals and presenting to Clients\nAssist with mentoring of junior staff within the Mechanical Department\nReview and edit specifications\nInteract and work with a diverse set of clients and subcontractors\n Minimum Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited Mechanical Engineering Program\n4+ years of experience in mechanical design of HVAC and Plumbing systems or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nPreferred Requirements\nProfessional Engineer (PE) or in process of obtaining\n6+ years of experience in mechanical design of HVAC and Plumbing systems\nExperience using AutoCAD and Revit\nAbility to interact with others on a multi-discipline team\nAbility to work on multiple projects at once\nExcellent communications skills with the ability to present designs to clients\nGood time management skills, a strong work ethic and attention to detail\nProficient in Building Load Calculation and Energy Modeling\nProficient in the design of HVAC, MAU/DOAS, refrigeration, piping, process piping, steam & condensate and specialty exhaust systems\nProficient in the design of plumbing systems including sanitary, storm, water distribution, pumping and medical gas systems\nCampus distribution & central plant design experience a plus\nEnergy Modeling experience a plus\nCost estimating experience a plus\nExperience with Design-Build and other Alternate Delivery practices a plus\nExperience with Instrumentation and Controls design a plus\nExcellent Communications Skills with the ability to present designs to clients\nAdditional Industry Certifications such as LEED AP, CxA or CEM\n Sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
