Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a Civil Construction Engineer III to work out of Sacramento, Bakersfield, or Fresno, CA. This role is on-site.\nPosition Summary\nThe Construction Engineer will support the California High-Speed Rail program by contributing to engineering analysis, data management, and performance reporting. This role is suited for an early-career professional with a bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering and at least two years of experience, with strong capabilities in data systems and analytics.\nThe position plays a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making by supporting construction, engineering, project controls, and program management teams through accurate reporting, system integration, and continuous improvement of data workflows.\n Position Responsibilities\nSupport engineering and project teams with data collection, validation, and analysis related to program delivery\nDevelop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs), schedules, and project metrics\nUtilize data visualization tools to present complex engineering and program data in a clear, actionable format\nAssist with integration and management of data across multiple enterprise systems and platforms\nPrepare recurring and ad hoc reports for leadership, stakeholders, and program teams\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify reporting needs, data gaps, and process inefficiencies\nApply engineering principles to interpret data trends and support technical and operational decision-making\nPerform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) checks on datasets and reporting outputs\nSupport development of documentation including workflows, reporting procedures, and data standards\nContribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives related to reporting and data management\n Minimum Requirements:\nBA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.\n Preferred Qualifications/ Certifications/ Licensures\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills\nExperience with construction or civil engineering principles\nPrior track or rail experience\nExperience working with data systems, reporting tools, or engineering/project databases\nAbility to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel\nAdvanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, macros, data modeling)\nExperience with Power BI or similar data visualization/reporting tools\nFamiliarity with enterprise systems such as project controls software, ERP platforms, or engineering data systems\nExposure to large-scale infrastructure, transportation, or construction programs\nBasic knowledge of SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools is a plus\nExperience supporting reporting and analytics in complex, multidisciplinary environments\n Sponsorship is provided for this role. \nRelocation is provided for this role. \nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
