Join us.\n AECOM Enterprise Capabilities is currently recruiting for a Principal Engineer - Ground Engineering to join our busy and expanding experienced team. The team provides assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of Projects, either as standalone commissions or as part of multidisciplinary major projects. It can be a great opportunity for a mid-level profile that wants to boost his/her professional technical career on the ground engineering.\nThe responsibilities of this role include:\nPerforms specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer in diverse geotechnical projects\nGathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures in geotechnical engineering with emphasis on soil and rock data\nPerformance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position in relation to geotechnical projects\nProvides specialized technical input to studies and designs for staff in geotechnical engineering\nPrepare and manage technical specification sections related to designs, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards and regulations\nWorks on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and tests for geotechnical projects\nIndependently perform all the tasks necessary to complete design elements for geotechnical engineering works\nProposes approach to solving new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments in relation to geotechnical engineering projects\nProvides guidance to entry level engineers in geotechnical engineering with emphasis on soil and rock mechanics\nDevelops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others\nWorks as part of a ground and tunnelling engineering team with other engineers at the same functional level that can be from different EC offices (Poland, Spain, India, etc.)\nWorks within interdisciplinary teams in infrastructure projects design\nParticipates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables\nFollow the AECOM’s Technical Quality Review procedure\nIdentifies discrepancies in results in calculations and reports for geotechnical projects\nPerforms quality control review of reports, design calculations and drawings for geotechnical projects\nPerforms work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision with emphasis on geotechnical projects\nProvides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements\n Minimum Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering o Engineering Geology from a recognized University\nMaster´s degree, with emphasis in geotechnical engineering, from a recognized University\nProven track record of working on ground engineering designs (+6 years) for Transportation, Water and/or Energy Projects\nExperience in the application of international regulations and standards with emphasis on geotechnical engineering\nProficiency in geotechnical design software such as Roscsience, Geo Studio.\nProficiency in numerical analysis using FEM software such as PLAXIS 2D and 3D; RS2 and RS3\nProficiency in use of CAD software such as Civil 3D, Auto CAD\nExperience in geotechnical design for slope stability, retaining structures, foundations and soil improvement\nProven commitment with Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System\nFluent in English (oral and written)\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in the use of structural engineering software SAP 2000, SAFE\nExperience working on international projects will be considered favorably\nUS and/or Australia Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably\nBackground in underground works associated with water and electrical projects would be considered as positive\nExperience working with Common Data Environment platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ACC)\nKnowledge of software for generating geotechnical models such as Leapfrog, and for processing geotechnical data as OpenGround and Gint\n Relocation assistance is not available for this position.\nSponsorship for Colombia work authorization is not available for this position, now or in the future.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
