Grow here.\n We are seeking a Principal Engineer - Secondary Substation to join our Transmission & Distribution team in India. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer to contribute to impactful Energy projects across the globe and continue developing their technical expertise in a supportive, high-performing team.\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of Protection & Control engineers and technical specialists.\nDevelop, refine and optimise P&C solutions including creation of key line diagrams, schematic diagrams, relay settings, SCADA topology diagrams, wiring diagrams, design specifications, interface drawings etc. for various Transmission & Distribution clients.\nOwner’s Engineers role, to review and comment on supplier designs and calculations on behalf of HV Clients, including BESS and Renewables projects\nConduct Protection Coordination Studies and Settings calculations where required using ETAP or similar software (desired).\nCoordinate across multi-disciplinary engineering environments and project managers.\nSupport with technical reports and bids, as well as foster positive relationships with clients.\nEnsure adherence to AECOM and client design management processes while leading project and client meetings as needed.\nMentor team members in their development, facilitating opportunities that build competency, and assisting with professional accreditation where appropriate.\nEnsure design submissions comply with codes, standards such as IEEE, IEC, National Grid, and quality requirements.\nDrive innovation in AI, digital, scripts automation, develop the user defined dynamic & transient models.\nPerforms quality control review of design calculations or drawings.\nPrepares technical specification sections.\nProvides input to the development of engineering budgets and schedules.\n The successful candidate will have the following Qualifications:\nMaster of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.\n12-15 years of work experience is preferred.\nChartered Engineer (CEng), or Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent in the relevant field from any global organization (e.g., Institution of Electrical Engineers, UK)\nPrior experience in leading large design engineering teams performing Grid Substation design in a global consultancy firm is preferred.\nExperience in HV Plant Design for EHV Grid Substations is mandatory.\nExperience in P&C FEED or detailed design of high voltage installations (132kV to 400kV). \nExperience in preparation of Substation Protection and Control Scheme drawings, Relay Coordination and Settings, Panel GA drawings, Substation SCADA and communication protocols, etc is preferred.\nPrevious experience in design teams working for Grid Utilities (e.g., Global National Grid, Transgrid, Powergrid etc.) for Substations and Transmission Line Electrical design.\nExposure to International standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, Australian Standards, NEC, BS, Middle East region codes & standards, etc.) is preferred\nShould have led large teams and faced clients independently.\nPrevious design experience working with GIS and AIS EHV substation HV Plant Secondary design is preferable.\n At AECOM, our Freedom to Grow philosophy supports flexibility and balance to help our people thrive.
