Join us.\n Position Summary:\nThe T&D Secondary Systems Engineer is responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of secondary systems within the transmission and distribution Substation. This role provides an opportunity to work on various projects related to protective relaying, control systems, and communication networks, ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of the T&D systems.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign and Implementation:Responsible for the electrical engineering secondary circuits for HV Substations\nProvide mentorship for the other electrical engineers in our High Voltage/Power team\nWorking with Project Engineer and Project Manager on developing design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities\nAssist in the design and development of secondary systems for T&D projects.\nSupport the implementation and commissioning of protective relay schemes, control systems, and communication networks.\n\nDocumentation and Reporting:Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, schematics;\nGenerate basis of design documentation for protection and relay configurations\nGenerate reports on system performance, project progress, and testing outcomes.\nReviewing engineering work performed by peers\nSupporting projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning\nEnsure compliance with industry standards, company specifications, and regulatory requirements.\n\nCollaboration and Support:Work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.\nProvide technical support during project execution and address any issues related to secondary systems.\nReview and approve technical documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports.\n\nCompliance and Standards:Ensure all designs and implementations comply with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.\nStay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry best practices.\n\n Mandatory qualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.\nExperience: Minimum 10 years of experience in Secondary Substation Systems\n Skills:Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering secondary substation system;\nStrong expertise in:\n\nProtection and control system design for HV substations (line, transformer, busbar, and feeder protection schemes)\nSubstation automation systems and SCADA integration\nProtection coordination studies and relay settings philosophy\nControl logic, interlocking schemes, and communication networks\nIntegration of protection systems with primary equipment and system studies\nExperience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to complete design and construction.\nProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise\nParticipates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables\nSenior technical resource may serve as technical advisor and lead for team\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nExcellent communication and teamwork abilities\nNice to have:\nGood knowledge of Mapping and Relay Settings for ABB Relays Family, GE Relays Family, Siemens Relays Family & SEL Relays Family.\nCommissioning Field Experience\nKnowledge of the Control Equipment (Protection Relays, PLC, Concentrators, etc.)\nExperience working on UK transmission or distribution substation projects\nExposure to National Grid standards and protection philosophie\nExperience with IEC 61850 substation automation systems\nExperience with protection relays such as ABB, GE, Siemens, or SEL\nProficiency in using engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP).\n At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
