AECOM is an American infrastructure consulting firm that became independent in 1990 through a management buyout from the energy group Ashland, and is now one of the largest design and engineering organisations in the world. It plans, designs and manages delivery of transport systems, water and wastewater infrastructure, buildings, environmental remediation and energy projects for public agencies and private developers across roughly one hundred and fifty countries. Headquartered in Dallas after relocating from Los Angeles, the company sold its self-perform construction and government services arms to concentrate on higher-margin professional services rather than carrying construction risk.

  • Lead, mentor and develop team members, supporting technical excellence, career development and a positive team culture.

  • Coordinate workforce planning and resource allocation across our national Building Structures and Civil team, monitoring workloads and future demand to balance project priorities, team capacity and business needs.

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.

The qualities that help you thrive:

  • A bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering, with ideally 9+ years of experience delivering complex structural engineering projects across a range of sectors and building typologies in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Strong technical expertise and a track record of independently providing specialist structural engineering input across conceptual and detailed design.
  • Proficiency in advanced digital design workflows and industry-standard software such as ETABS, RAM Concept, RAPT and SpaceGASS.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and coordinate resources across multiple projects.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with project and discipline leaders to understand resource requirements, monitor workloads and support effective project delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in resource management, workforce planning or workload coordination within an engineering consultancy or similar environment would be advantageous.
  • Sound commercial awareness and decision-making skills, with the ability to use workload and resource information to identify gaps, balance competing demands and support project delivery.

Why you’ll love working with us:

  • Flexible work arrangements, including alternative start/finish times, full-time, part-time, job-sharing and hybrid work options
  • Purchase up to 6 weeks additional annual leave per year
  • Flex public holidays - swap Easter or other holidays for ones that suit you better
