Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a Project Manager, based out of our Carolinas B+P footprint, to lead delivery of complex manufacturing programs for our Advanced Manufacturing practice. The Advanced Manufacturing Porject Manager will speak the client’s industrial language: turn production intent into layout, material flow and a deliverable capital program, then carry it through AECOM’s design and design-build teams. Business Sectors include : semiconductor, defense, aerospace, energy and nuclear fuel, battery, robotics, and microprocessors.\nResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nServe as Project Manager on manufacturing facility projects of $100 million and above; own scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and client satisfaction.\n\nServe as the primary interface between clients and AECOM’s design and design-build teams.\n\nTranslate client production intent into actionable layouts, material flows, and deliverable capital projects, applying Lean principles where they add value.\n\nLead pursuits, fee and negotiations for design and design-build delivery; Manage subcontractor contracts and scope.\n\nManage project financials, including NSR, margin, forecasting, invoicing and change orders.\n\nIntegrate process and equipment requirements with architecture, MEP, process utilities and civil.\n\nGuide industrial engineering scope (layout, material flow, throughput, automation) with the ability to apply Lean and Six Sigma processes highly desirable.\n\nLead and mentor project teams, coordinate Architectural and Engineering disciplines and work-share with AECOM design centers.\n\nLead commissioning, start-up and turnover, including tool installation and production ramp.\n\nChampion safety: embed EHS and constructability in design and uphold AECOM Safety for Life standards on site.\n\n Minimum Requirements\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field plus 10 years of relevant experience, including 2 years managing design or design-build delivery of manufacturing facilities or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\n\nDemonstrated leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial projects of $100 million or greater\n\nDemonstrated Architecture/Engineering (A/E) Delivery Experience\n\nDue to the nature of the job, United States Citizenship is required\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nPMP and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt\n\nMaster’s degree or MBA\n\n15+ years across manufacturing operations and A/E, EPC or Design-Build consulting\n\nActive A/E licensure (PE or RA); ability to obtain North Carolina and/or South Carolina registration\n\nRegulated-sector experience (DoD, DOE, NRC, FAA, ITAR) and Federal design-build delivery\n\nFamiliarity with simulation tools (FlexSim, Simio, Plant Simulation) for automation and robotics integration\n\nAbility to pass client background checks and obtain a security clearance\n\n THIS POSTING IS FOR A CURRENT VACANCY, AND AECOM INTENDS TO FILL THIS POSITION BY DECEMBER 29, 2026.\nRelocation assistance is not available.\nSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
