Recent projects include major track improvements for the Southern Renewals Enterprise in England’s busiest passenger corridors, the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Rail Link (Hung Shui Kiu-Qianhai), the Elephant & Castle Station capacity upgrade in London, and key design and asset protection services for Network Rail frameworks across the UK, as well as delivering components of High Speed 2 and supporting global initiatives in sustainable rail.\nWe are looking for graduates who are team players and open thinkers who want to contribute to some of the biggest challenges in transportation infrastructure.\nJob Responsibilities\nAs part of AECOM's Apprenticeship Programme, you will gain hands-on experience while studying towards a recognised qualification. Working alongside experienced engineers, designers and digital specialists, you will develop technical skills in CAD and BIM while supporting the delivery of major rail infrastructure projects.\nYou will:\nProduce and develop 2D and 3D engineering drawings and models using industry-standard CAD and BIM software.\nSupport the development and coordination of multidisciplinary rail designs including civils, track, structures, signalling and MEP systems.\nAssist with the creation, management and maintenance of BIM models and project information.\nEnsure drawings and models comply with project standards, industry requirements and client specifications.\nSupport clash detection and design coordination activities across multiple disciplines.\nAssist with the preparation of technical documentation, drawings and design deliverables.\nContribute to digital engineering initiatives and BIM best practice processes.\nWork closely with engineers, designers and project teams to deliver high-quality project outputs.\nDevelop an understanding of railway engineering, digital delivery and construction methodologies.\nParticipate in formal learning and training activities as part of your apprenticeship programme.\n A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above, including Mathematics and English.\nThree A-Levels (or equivalent such as BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering), including Maths and a physical science at grade C or above - required for Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.\nAn interest in engineering design, digital technology and railway infrastructure.\nAwareness of CAD and BIM principles would be beneficial.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nGood Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.\nGood communication and interpersonal skills.\nEnthusiastic, hard-working and willing to learn new technologies and processes.\nAbility to structure and prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole.\nAbility to work both independently and collaboratively.\n Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible since CVs will be reviewed, and candidates selected on a rolling recruitment basis for either immediate or advanced offer start. \nPlease include a covering letter with your application and provide all predicted and/or obtained academic grades and details of the dates you are able to work to/from and well as locations you would be interested in. \nYou must have the right to work in the UK. \nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
