Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a Senior Acoustic and Vibration Engineer to join our team .\nThis position is a replacement for an existing role within the Acoustics and Vibrations team.\nYou will become part of a Canadian team of acoustics and vibration specialists recognized for its expertise in the transportation, environmental, industrial, and building sectors. Our practice is built on close collaboration between our Quebec, Alberta and Ontario teams, allowing us to combine complementary expertise and deliver major projects across Canada.\nThis is a strategic role that combines technical leadership, project management, and business development. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering complex acoustics and vibration studies while serving as a trusted technical advisor to project teams and clients.\nAs a Senior Acoustic and Vibration Engineer, you will lead multidisciplinary assignments from concept through completion, working closely with engineers, project managers, architects, environmental specialists, and clients. You will also contribute to the growth of AECOM’s Acoustics and Vibrations practice through business development, mentorship of technical staff, and the advancement of technical excellence.\nYour work will span a wide range of projects, including industrial environmental compliance, transportation infrastructure (rail, roadway, and transit systems), construction projects, architectural acoustics, and mechanical noise and vibration control.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead acoustics, noise, and vibration projects for clients in the transportation, industrial, and building sectors.\nAct as a technical expert and advise clients on identifying and resolving complex acoustical and vibration-related challenges.\nPlan and oversee field measurement programs, analyses, modelling, and technical studies.\nPrepare and review technical reports, specifications, impact assessments, and recommendations.\nCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams and support overall project delivery.\nContribute to business development activities, proposal preparation, and the growth of the practice.\nProvide mentorship and technical guidance to developing professionals.\nMaintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.\nWork in accordance with AECOM's Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality Management policies.\nContribute to the development of internal standards, tools and innovations\nMinimum Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.\n6+ years of experience in acoustics, environmental noise, vibration, or a related discipline.\nDemonstrated experience providing technical and project or discipline leadership on complex multidisciplinary projects.\nStrong technical expertise in noise and vibration assessment, modelling, analysis, and mitigation.\nExperience supporting or leading projects involving rail, roadway, and public transit infrastructure.\nExperience in architectural acoustics and mechanical equipment noise and vibration control.\nStrong knowledge of applicable provincial, national, and international noise and vibration regulations, standards, and guidelines.\nDemonstrated ability to mentor and develop technical professionals.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nExperience with CAD software, including AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.\nPreferred Qualifications\n10+ years of consulting experience in acoustics, noise, vibration, or a related engineering discipline.\nExperience leading complex multidisciplinary projects and coordinating technical teams.\nStrong knowledge of building vibration measurement and analysis, including dynamic excitation testing, vibration response measurements, and vibration control for sensitive equipment.\nExperience with structural dynamics software, such as SAP2000.\nDemonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior and intermediate technical staff.\nBilingual in French and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages in a technical and professional context.\n At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
