Join us and continue to grow your career!\nAs part of this exciting role, you’ll get the chance to work on innovative and varied projects - from feasibility and concept through to detailed design, installation supervision, and commissioning of onshore infrastructure. You’ll work across multiple voltage levels working with clients including Transmission System Operators, Distribution Network Operators, and private developers worldwide. Grow here.\nHere’s what you will do:\nDeliver full lifecycle cable engineering packages from feasibility studies and concept design through to detailed design, installation support, and commissioning.\nReview complex HV cable system designs, including route development, burial risk assessments, thermal, electromagnetic, and mechanical calculations.\nUndertake cable rating and system studies including ampacity, short circuit forces, thermal stability, and electromagnetic interference analysis.\nCarry out cable pulling, jointing, cleating, and installation feasibility studies.\nCollaborate with civil, structural, substation and OHL teams to ensure fully integrated solutions.\nConduct third-party inspections and support FAT/SAT, installation, and commissioning activities.\nSupport the interface activity with manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors to verify compliance with IEC, CIGRÉ, National Grid TPs, and other international standards.\nParticipate in client meetings, technical workshops, HAZID/HAZOPs, and multidisciplinary coordination.\nDriving excellence.\nAt AECOM, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within our Transmission and Distribution team. FEED experience is essential.\nA demonstrated understanding of:Onshore cable routing \nCable pulling and mechanical forces\nCable burial risk assessments and protection strategies\nElectromagnetic, thermal, and stability analysis\nCable cleating and short circuit restraint\n\nKnowledge of working within national and international standards, including IEC, CIGRÉ, and NG-TPs.\nExperience with:Cable system ECI engineering\nSubsea control and electrical solutions\nCable manufacturing and testing\nThird-party inspection and verification\n\nIdeally have experience with tools such as CYMCAP, WinCable, AutoCAD, Revit, GIS, and mechanical simulation tools.\nDesirable Certifications & Qualifications\nA minimum HNC qualified in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline.\nChartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership\n Interested in the role or curious about life at AECOM?
