Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing Canadian Data Center team.\nThis is a senior, hands-on technical role for an experienced electrical engineer ready to tackle the scale, speed and complexity of hyperscale, colocation and mission-critical facilities. This is a newly created position.\nYou will design resilient critical-power infrastructure, solve complex engineering challenges, collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and help develop the next generation of engineers.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead electrical design for hyperscale, colocation and mission-critical data centers.\nDesign medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems, including utility services, substations, transformers, switchgear, switchboards and panelboards.\nDevelop critical-power and backup-power systems incorporating UPS systems, generators, batteries and associated distribution.\nDesign resilient, redundant and fault-tolerant electrical architectures for continuous operations.\nPerform electrical load calculations, demand assessments, capacity planning and power-system studies.\nSupport short-circuit, protective-device coordination, arc-flash and related electrical-system analyses.\nDevelop grounding, bonding, lightning-protection and emergency-power solutions.\nSupport high-density computing applications and evolving data center power requirements.\nAdvance energy-efficient and sustainable electrical design strategies.\nPrepare engineering calculations, single-line diagrams, equipment selections, specifications and technical documentation.\nCoordinate with mechanical, structural, architectural, civil, fire protection, telecommunications and controls disciplines.\nSupport construction, RFIs, shop drawing reviews, commissioning, integrated systems testing, startup and turnover.\nWork directly with clients, utilities, contractors, vendors and project stakeholders.\nMentor junior and intermediate engineers and designers.\nSupport proposals, pursuits, fee development and technical presentations.\n What You Bring\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in a Canadian province, or eligibility to obtain registration.\n6+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience.\nStrong power-distribution and electrical-system design experience.\nExperience with data centers, mission-critical facilities or other complex building infrastructure.\nStrong technical, multidisciplinary coordination and communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\n10+ years of electrical engineering experience.\nHyperscale, colocation or mission-critical data center experience.\nExperience with medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.\nExperience with UPS, generator, battery and critical-power systems.\nExperience with short-circuit, protective-device coordination, arc-flash and other power-system studies.\nCommissioning and integrated systems testing experience.\nKnowledge of Canadian electrical codes, standards and provincial requirements.\nFamiliarity with Uptime Institute Tier concepts, TIA-942 and ANSI/BICSI 002.\nExperience with Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary design coordination and client-facing technical delivery.\n Relocation is not available for this position.\nSponsorship is not available for this position.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
