Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Buildings & Places (B&P) Construction Supervision team. This role involves overseeing mechanical engineering aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to delivering excellence in the built environment.\nConstruction Supervision & Quality Assurance\nOversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building services.\nIndependently perform walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to ensure conformance with specifications and design.\nEnsure all mechanical works comply with project specifications, codes, standards, and safety regulations.\nConduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address technical issues.\n\nTechnical Leadership\nProvide technical guidance to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.\nReview and approve mechanical design drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.\nDisplay knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.\nMay provide technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors.\n\nProject Coordination\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil engineers, and electrical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.\nCoordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely execution of mechanical works.\n\nDocumentation & Reporting\nPrepare and maintain detailed site reports, inspection records, and progress updates.\nPerform quantity surveys for tracking and reporting.\nEnsure accurate documentation of as-built drawings and project handover deliverables.\n\nCompliance & Risk Management\nEnsure compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and health and safety standards.\nIdentify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project delays or cost overruns.\n\nProfessional Judgment\nDisplay sound professional judgment on details of work, ensuring engineering solutions align with project goals and standards.\n\n Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in construction supervision for B&P projects.\nProficiency in mechanical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, BIM tools).\nStrong understanding of mechanical systems, building codes, and construction methodologies.\nKnowledge of international standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and LEED is a plus.\nExcellent leadership and team management abilities.\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and team members.\n At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
