Join us.\n This position involves leading mechanical utilities engineering projects from conception through completion, with emphasis on project management controls and advanced design expertise. The Senior Engineer will manage project scope, budget, and schedule while delivering innovative engineering solutions for complex mechanical systems.\n**Key Responsibilities:**\nLead and manage engineering projects within defined budget and schedule parameters, demonstrating strong project management and controls discipline\nDevelop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies to ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables\nPerform advanced engineering design work, including calculations, specifications, and detailed design documentation for mechanical utilities systems\nIndependently execute all primary design elements and technical analyses necessary to complete engineering works\nGather, correlate, and analyze engineering data using established procedures and design methodologies to inform design decisions\nPropose innovative design approaches to solve complex problems by applying and modifying standard procedures based on previous project experience\nIdentify discrepancies in design results and implement corrective actions to ensure design integrity\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design calculations, specifications, engineering reports, and design justifications\nEnsure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (ASME, ANSI, local building codes)\nConduct quality assurance reviews and oversee testing protocols to verify design integrity and system functionality\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and project management to optimize system performance, reliability, and design efficiency\nMentor and provide technical guidance to entry-level engineers on design concepts, engineering best practices, and project execution\nRecommend process improvements and design enhancements for mechanical utility systems based on performance analysis and lessons learned\nManage project risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain project control and delivery excellence\n **Required Qualifications:**\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline\nMinimum 10-15 years of professional engineering experience in mechanical utilities or related systems\nDemonstrated expertise in advanced mechanical design with proven ability to independently execute complex design projects from conception through completion\nExtensive experience with Project Management Controls (PMC), including project planning, budget management, schedule development, and scope control\nProficiency in engineering calculations, design software, and CAD applications\nStrong knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (ASME, ANSI, local building codes)\nDemonstrated experience developing technical documentation, design calculations, and comprehensive engineering reports\nSolid understanding of mechanical utility systems design, installation, and operation\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify and implement corrective actions\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple complex tasks within budget and schedule constraints\nExperience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a professional engineering environment\n**Preferred Qualifications:**\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure\nAdvanced project management certification or formal PMC training\nExperience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior engineers\nFamiliarity with quality assurance protocols and testing methodologies\nBackground in process improvement and system optimization\nExperience with project planning and scheduling tools\nKnowledge of HVAC, plumbing, or other mechanical utility systems\n At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
