Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Senior Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer to join our Mining Project Delivery team in support of mining projects.\nJob Summary/Responsibilities\nProvides project leadership in the areas of instrumentation & controls, engineering and design, investigations, analysis on multi-disciplinary mining projects. \nServe as lead I&C engineer or discipline lead on mid-size to large projects. \nCoordinate and direct staff on designs, specifications, drawings, figures, reports and calculations on multi-discipline design efforts. \nWork with existing and potential clients to provide instrumentation & controls, engineering and design solutions on mining projects. \nDevelop project proposals and work with mining business leader to support and grow the Mining practice. \nProvide direction and mentoring to technical staff in completing project tasks. \nWrite technical scopes of work, specifications, design/check P&ID's (including instrumenting P&ID's, and adding control and interlock notes), data sheets, architecture drawings, functional descriptions, instrument index, loop sheets, interconnection diagrams, instrument location plans, I/O lists and cable schedules. \nProvide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise. \nProvide technical expertise for studies and design efforts. \nPresent complex technical solutions to clients. \nPerform independent technical reviews of engineering documentation and sign off on work performed. \nEquipment bid package development, analysis, purchase order management and vendor drawing review \nServe as primary point of contact with the client and develop client relationships \nPlan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering project, focusing on the I&C designs of mine projects. \nProvides advice and consultation to clients on engineering matters, including compliance with government laws and regulations. \n Minimum Requirements\nBachelor's degree in electrical engineering + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.\nValid U.S. Driver’s License, along with ability to pass a Motor Vehicles Records check in accordance with company policy.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPE in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, or ability to acquire a PE in those states. \nOn-site field experience in commissioning and start-ups for facilities \n10+ years or more of relevant experience \nMSHA Miner training \nDemonstrated experience in I&C engineering, design, and construction tasks including: \nHAZOP participation \nHuman factors reviews \nSIL verification \nValve, flow element and relief valve sizing \nControl system architecture development \nControl system Input/Output and instrument list development \nInstrument and control element specifications and data sheets \nControl system (DCS) and programmable logic controller (PLC) specifications \nControl system (DCS) and PLC wiring diagrams, panel layouts and network diagrams \nControl narrative, logic diagram, functional control diagram development \nComprehension of electrical equipment designs and wiring (switchgear, panelboards, MCCs, VFDs, etc.) \nInterpretation and input to Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs) \nProgressive project experience including task leadership and project management roles on design and design-build projects \nLead designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, I&C specifications, and final working drawings \nWork with CAD designers to produce construction-level drawings \nStrong written and oral communication, quantitative and people skills \nStrong work ethic and professional demeanor \nInitiative-taking on assignments \nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision, and complete multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines \nAbility to estimate and define scope for I&C deliverables and tasks on projects \nPerform work in accordance with agreed upon scope, budget, and schedule \nTrack and manage task budgets, schedules and projects. \nAuthor reports and prepare/or direct preparation of detailed calculation packages including proper documentation and references. \nMust be resourceful, highly organized, professional with attention to detail and people. \n Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.\nWillingness to travel to domestic and international locations for projects.\nTHIS POSTING IS FOR A CURRENT VACANCY, AND AECOM INTENDS TO FING THIS POSITION BY JANUARY 11, 2027\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
