We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, coordination and delivery of complex projects, with a particular focus on Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare and mission-critical facilities.
The role offers the opportunity to lead technical activities, mentor junior engineers and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, plumbing and fire protection) from concept design through construction and project completion.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, drawings and design documentation.
- Coordinate mechanical engineering activities with other disciplines, ensuring seamless integration across projects.
- Manage project deliverables, budgets and schedules while maintaining the highest technical standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support their professional development.
- Attend client meetings and participate in technical discussions, presenting engineering solutions and recommendations.
- Support business development activities, including bids, tenders and proposal preparation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, sustainability standards and industry best practices.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives and continuously seek improvements in engineering design processes.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Fluent in Italian and English.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical building services engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment.
- Strong technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems design.
- Proven experience delivering complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Experience in Data Centres, Critical Facilities, Healthcare, or other highly complex engineering projects will be particularly valued.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM workflows.
- Strong understanding of relevant Italian and international codes, standards and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience coordinating teams and mentoring junior engineers.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional registration, Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional qualification would be considered an advantage.
