Join us.\n We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, coordination and delivery of complex projects, with a particular focus on Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare and mission-critical facilities.\nThe role offers the opportunity to lead technical activities, mentor junior engineers and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, plumbing and fire protection) from concept design through construction and project completion.\nPrepare and review engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, drawings and design documentation.\nCoordinate mechanical engineering activities with other disciplines, ensuring seamless integration across projects.\nManage project deliverables, budgets and schedules while maintaining the highest technical standards.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support their professional development.\nAttend client meetings and participate in technical discussions, presenting engineering solutions and recommendations.\nSupport business development activities, including bids, tenders and proposal preparation.\nEnsure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, sustainability standards and industry best practices.\nContribute to innovation initiatives and continuously seek improvements in engineering design processes.\n Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.\nFluent in Italian and English.\nMinimum 5 years of experience in mechanical building services engineering, preferably within a consultancy environment.\nStrong technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems design.\nProven experience delivering complex multidisciplinary projects.\nExperience in Data Centres, Critical Facilities, Healthcare, or other highly complex engineering projects will be particularly valued.\nProficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM workflows.\nStrong understanding of relevant Italian and international codes, standards and regulations.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.\nExperience coordinating teams and mentoring junior engineers.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.\nProfessional registration, Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional qualification would be considered an advantage.\n What we offer:\nAECOM: A World of Opportunities and Benefits\nAttractive Compensation Package: We offer a competitive salary along with a range of exclusive benefits, including hybrid work, meal vouchers, welfare program, resources for personal well-being and mental health, gym memberships, health insurance, laptop, smartphone, employee assistance program, business travel insurance, service recognition awards, and a pension savings plan.\nOffice in the Heart of Milan: Central location, with easy access to all the city's conveniences.\nWork Flexibility: We offer flexible work options to help you maintain an optimal work-life balance.\nPublic Transport Allowances: We help cover the costs of your daily commute.\nCulture of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Welcoming Workplaces: Our culture promotes a welcoming and respectful work environment.
