Join us.\n We have expanding workload in Aecom’s existing Network Rail Framework contracts and a major new Electrification Scheme the Transportation team currently has a vacancy as a Senior Overhead Line Engineer with experience working on Network Rail’s infrastructure and other railway /metro environments in one of the following offices: Manchester, Swindon, Glasgow & Birmingham\nWorking as part of a well-established OLE team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering safe, economical and quality projects for a variety of clients to meet their objectives and requirements.\nThe Senior Overhead Design Engineer will report to the Team Leader and work together across all disciplines to achieve the best system design approach for each project. This role may include responsibility for leading a team of engineers and designers.\nHere’s what you’ll do:\nProvide Expertise: Act as the Contractors Responsible Engineer and Lead designer duties for OLE design Schemes.\nLead: the delivery and management of the production of technical designs for OLE including Layout Plans, Cross Sections, Allocations, Isolation Diagrams updates, bonding designs, and supporting reports and calculations.\nEnsure Quality: Ensuring designs are delivered in line with relevant, current design standards, are constructible, and apply Safe by Design principles. Work within financial and programme constraints, monitoring expenditure against the project fee. \nCollaborate: Communicate effectively with other design/construction disciplines and sub-contractors\nPrepare fee proposal and agree with Director for submission to client, including resources and programme and respond to design queries during the construction phase and attend site meetings if required.\nUndertake the Project Engineer Duties for Network Rail subject to successful assessment by the Designated Project Engineer via Form F0054.Commercial\n Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?\nHere’s what we’re looking for:\nProven lead designer experience in significant Overhead Line technical design\nComprehensive knowledge and Experienced in OLEMI and other OLE ranges i.e. UKMS, Series-1, Series-2, Mk3B, GEFF, Mk1, SICAT, SNCF, UK1 etc.\n Familiar with Isolation diagrams and their update process.\n Understanding of Earthing & Bonding required for electrification\n Proficient in Bentley MicroStation CAD software\n Excellent communications and organization skills. \nUnderstanding of CSM-RA & Health and Safety including CDM \nExperience in managing teams.\n Candidates will be able to provide the experience of working in a 3D common data environment working to BIM procedures and practices\nAbility to develop OLE designs\nBSc, BEng or MEng degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering\nChartered Engineer (or working towards) and member of a professional institution\nWe celebrate diversity, including neurodiversity, and believe it enriches our team.
