Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a Senior Plumbing Engineer/Designer specializing in Hyperscale Data Centers to act as a Data Center Plumbing Lead. The job incumbent will be responsible for designing plumbing systems in large scale data centers. This position could be based anywhere in the US, can be done remotely, with occasional site visits as needed.\nThis position offers the flexibility of a remote work schedule and can be based from a variety of locations in the US where AECOM has an office\nAlthough the position is primarily remote periodic travel may be required for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other business-critical activities. Travel is expected to be occasional and scheduled in advance\nAECOM is a leader in the global data center consulting industry with robust teams in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with our teams around the world on high-profile, fast-paced data center projects for global clients. This is a hands-on, client-facing role with an opportunity for upward career mobility.\nKey Responsibilities:\nServes as lead engineer on hyperscale data center projects.\nProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.\nApproves and signs off on work.\nCollaborates with other engineers and stakeholders to develop specifications and design criteria.\nProvides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.\nPresents complex technical solutions to clients.\nPerforms quality control reviews of work developed by others.\nParticipates in development of technical proposals.\nProvides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.\n Minimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field\n6+ years of experience in building systems engineering, with a primary focus on plumbing system design on large buildings.\nFamiliarity with AutoCAD and Revit\nWorking knowledge of applicable local and national building codes\nProficient in making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing\nMust have well-rounded background in plumbing project design and delivery to meet various challenges\nWilling to travel as required.\nKnowledge of sustainable plumbing design and basic LEED building practices.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n10+ years of relevant experience\nLicensed Professional Engineer\nCertified in Plumbing Design (CPD)\nStrong written communication, presentation, and client interface skills\n Relocation is not available for this role\nSponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.\nTHIS POSTING IS FOR A CURRENT VACANCY, AND AECOM INTENDS TO FILL THIS POSITION BY JANUARY 11, 2026.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
