Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer / Lead Engineer to serve as a senior technical leader and subject matter expert for leading electrical engineering activities on large and complex industrial and power generation projects.\nThis role provides technical oversight, client engagement, project leadership, mentoring of engineering staff, and contributes to business development initiatives while ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that meet project objectives, industry standards, and client expectations.\nThe job responsibilities for the position will include but are not limited to:\nExtensive experience with 34.5KV and 15KV Medium Voltage and Low Voltage power distribution systems, Electrical system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash)\nUnderstanding of ETAP, SKM, Easypower, or equivalent software, Substation and switchgear design, and Motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, and large motor applications\nKnowledge in Emergency and standby power systems, Area classification and hazardous location design, Grounding, lightning protection, and cathodic protection interface considerations, and Electrical specifications, datasheets, and procurement support\nStrong understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, NESC, IEEE Standards, API, ISA, PIP, and industrial facility standards\nServe as Lead Electrical Engineer on large and complex projects.\nPlan, schedule, and monitor discipline work.\nManage budget, scope, and project deliverables.\nReview and approve design packages produced by junior engineers.\nInterface directly with clients, vendors, and construction teams.\nLead design reviews, E-HAZOPs, and project meetings.\nParticipate in proposal preparation and scope development.\nSupport business development activities and client relationship management.\nIdentify opportunities for additional work with existing clients.\nAssist in developing strategic growth initiatives for the I&G business.\nMentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers.\nPerform technical reviews and quality checks.\nAssist with recruiting and interviewing candidates.\nSupport resource planning and workforce development initiatives.\n MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\nBA/BS in Electrical Engineering + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license\nRelevant industry experience in industrial, power generation, oil & gas, chemicals, LNG, terminals, or heavy industrial facilities\nDemonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nMasters Degree in Electrical Engineering\n15 years of professional experience in Oil and Gas, Power Gen, or heavy industrial projects\nHV Experience on voltage levels up to 138KV\nMultiple state PE registrations\nExperience with EPC projects\nSCADA and Power Management System integration\nField experience including commissioning and startup support\nExisting relationships with major industrial clients and equipment suppliers\n Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.\nRelocation is not available for this position.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
