Grow here.\nAt AECOM, we're recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join our growing Project Management team in Cork.\nAbout the Role\nAECOM is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex healthcare and education projects across Cork and the wider Munster region.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a project management professional with a strong track record of delivering capital projects, ideally within the public sector. You will be responsible for managing projects throughout their lifecycle, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality and governance standards.\nThe role will involve working closely with public sector clients, design teams, contractors, and specialist consultants to deliver high-quality healthcare facilities and education buildings that provide long-term value to communities.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage the successful delivery of healthcare and education projects through all stages of the project lifecycle, from business case, planning and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.\nAct as a key point of contact for clients, developing strong and effective relationships with senior stakeholders, public sector organisations, consultants, contractors, and statutory authorities.\nLead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring effective collaboration across project management, cost management, design, engineering, and specialist consultancy disciplines.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain project execution plans, programmes, budgets, procurement strategies, risk registers, and reporting frameworks.\nMonitor project performance against agreed programme, cost, scope, quality, and risk objectives, taking proactive action to address issues and maximise project outcomes.\nManage project risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are identified, implemented, and regularly reviewed.\nSupport and lead procurement activities in accordance with Irish public procurement legislation and relevant forms of contract.\nCoordinate the activities of design teams, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery and resolution of issues.\nPrepare clear and concise project reports, progress updates, dashboards, and recommendations for clients and senior management.\nEnsure compliance with health and safety legislation, environmental requirements, quality management systems, and AECOM governance standards.\nContribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes, procedures, and best practice across the wider team.\nProvide guidance, mentoring, and support to project managers and junior team members, helping to develop capability and promote a collaborative and high-performing project environment.\n Here's what we're looking for:\nAs the successful candidate, you will have proven experience managing the delivery of complex construction projects and will possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:\nDegree qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or a related discipline.\nProfessional membership of a recognised institution, such as Chartered Engineer, Chartered Surveyor, Chartered Builder, or equivalent.\nSignificant experience in project management and the delivery of complex capital projects, preferably within a construction consultancy environment.\nProven experience delivering healthcare, hospital, education, or other public sector building projects from inception through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.\nStrong knowledge of project governance, programme management, procurement, contract administration, cost management, and risk management.\nDemonstrable experience coordinating and managing multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, contractors, and other key stakeholders.\nExperience working with public sector clients and an understanding of the requirements associated with public procurement and project governance.\nStrong commercial awareness, with the ability to monitor project costs, budgets, programme performance, and overall project delivery.\n Interested in the role or curious about life at AECOM?
