Join us.\n Start Here. Grow Here.\nAECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor-Rail projects to join our expanding Rail and Metro team in Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key commercial role on some of Ireland's most significant rail infrastructure programmes, helping to deliver projects that improve connectivity, support sustainable transport, and shape the future of mobility.\nWorking within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide commercial leadership and cost management services across all stages of the project lifecycle. You'll collaborate with clients, designers, contractors, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery while driving value, managing risk, and maintaining robust financial control.\nWhat You'll Do\nAs a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality quantity surveying and commercial management services across complex rail and metro projects. Your responsibilities will include:\nDeliver quantity surveying and cost management services across major rail and metro infrastructure projects.\nPrepare cost estimates, cost plans, budgets, tender documentation, and procurement reports.\nLead cost planning and cost control activities throughout the full project lifecycle.\nAdminister contracts and support procurement strategies in accordance with project requirements.\nEvaluate tenders, variations, compensation events, claims, and final accounts.\nMonitor project costs, cash flow, forecasts, and commercial performance against approved budgets.\nIdentify commercial risks and opportunities while supporting value engineering initiatives to optimise project outcomes.\nBuild strong working relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.\nPrepare commercial reports and provide accurate financial forecasting to support informed decision-making.\nEnsure compliance with AECOM governance, contractual obligations, and industry best practice.\nMentor and support junior quantity surveyors, contributing to the continued growth and development of the team.\nThis role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile rail and metro programmes in Ireland while developing your career within one of the world's leading infrastructure consultancies.\n We're looking for someone who has:\nA degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.\nChartered status, or is working towards chartership, with SCSI, RICS, or an equivalent professional body.\nProven experience delivering quantity surveying and cost management services on rail, metro, or major transportation infrastructure projects.\nStrong knowledge of standard forms of contract, including NEC and Public Works Contracts, with experience administering contracts on complex infrastructure schemes.\nExperience in cost estimating, cost planning, procurement, contract administration, change control, claims management, and commercial reporting.\nThe ability to manage project costs, financial forecasting, risk, and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle.\nExcellent analytical, negotiation, and commercial problem-solving skills.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience working collaboratively with clients, contractors, designers, and multidisciplinary teams.\nThe ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced rail infrastructure environment while maintaining a high standard of commercial delivery.\n Interested in the role or curious about life at AECOM?
