Join us.\n Senior Structural Engineer - Water Infrastructure\nThe Senior Structural Engineer will perform specific and moderate portions of broader water infrastructure assignments, demonstrating expertise in structural design for water systems and facilities. This role involves gathering and correlating hydraulic and water quality engineering data using established water industry procedures, while working on detailed structural assignments involving calculations, testing, and analysis specific to water treatment and distribution systems.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPerforms specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced water infrastructure engineer.\nGathers and correlates hydraulic, structural, and water quality engineering data using established and well-defined water industry procedures.\nWorks on detailed or routine structural engineering assignments involving calculations and testing specific to water treatment facilities, distribution systems, and water infrastructure projects.\nProposes approaches to solve new problems encountered in water engineering using modifications of standard water industry procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.\nIdentifies discrepancies in structural analysis results and water system performance data.\nProvides guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers in water infrastructure design and analysis.\nPerforms work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with minimal supervision, adhering to water industry standards and regulations.\nIndependently performs all tasks necessary to complete primary structural design elements for water infrastructure works, including treatment plants, pumping stations, and conveyance systems.\nPerformance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional water engineering position.\n **Required Qualifications:**\nMinimum 10 years of professional structural engineering experience in water infrastructure, including water treatment facilities, distribution systems, pumping stations, or conveyance systems\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline from an ABET-accredited program\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license in the state of practice\nDemonstrated expertise in structural design calculations, analysis, and testing specific to water systems\nProficiency with structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or equivalent)\nStrong knowledge of water industry standards, codes, and regulations (AWWA, ACI, AISC)\nProven ability to work independently on complex structural design assignments with minimal supervision\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nExperience mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers\n**Preferred Qualifications:**\nMaster's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Water Resources Engineering\n15+ years of experience in water infrastructure engineering\nExperience with hydraulic and water quality engineering data analysis\nFamiliarity with CAD software and Building Information Modeling (BIM)\nProject management experience on water infrastructure projects\nProfessional certifications in water engineering or related disciplines\n At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
