Grow here.\nAECOM are currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Glasgow office.\nThis role is particularly suited to a recently Chartered Structural Engineer looking to build on their professional qualification and take the next step in their career.\nYou will have the opportunity to take increasing ownership of projects, develop your leadership capability, strengthen client relationships and broaden your technical experience, with potential progression towards Principal Engineer, Associate and future technical or project leadership positions.\nThe Glasgow Structures team works on projects across Scotland, the UK and internationally. include:\nLead the structural engineering delivery of projects, or significant elements of larger multidisciplinary projects, from concept and feasibility through detailed design, construction and completion.\nDevelop robust, efficient and economical structural solutions in accordance with client requirements, relevant standards, legislation and best practice.\nDevelop structural schemes using reinforced concrete, steel, masonry and timber, as appropriate.\nApply sound engineering judgement to resolve complex technical problems and develop practical, buildable solutions.\nPrepare and review calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings, schedules and other engineering deliverables.\nReview technical work produced by engineers and technicians, ensuring deliverables are accurate, coordinated and fit for purpose.\nManage technical aspects of projects, including scope, programme, resources, technical risk and quality.\nCoordinate structural design with architects, civil engineers, building services engineers, geotechnical specialists and other disciplines.\nAttend design team, progress and client meetings, providing clear and confident technical input.\nLiaise directly with clients, contractors and external stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve technical issues.\nUndertake structural inspections, surveys, assessments and investigations of existing buildings and structures where required.\nSupport site activities, including responding to technical queries, reviewing construction information and undertaking site inspections.\nEnsure designs comply with relevant UK standards, codes, regulations and project requirements.\nSpecific Requirements:\nExcellent knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steelwork design.\nExcellent working knowledge of current Eurocodes, particularly Eurocodes 2 and 3.\nExcellent working knowledge of structural analysis software such as SCIA, TEKLA or similar.\nAbility to communicate effectively with project teams, senior management, clients and external bodies, representing AECOM professionally.\nProvide technical guidance, mentoring and support to graduate and less experienced engineers.\nDelegate tasks appropriately and review the work of engineers and technicians.\nSupport colleagues working towards professional qualifications and promote continuous professional development.\nTake responsibility for your own professional development and maintain Chartered status and CPD requirements.\nShare technical knowledge and lessons learned across the structural engineering team.\nContribute to technical forums, knowledge-sharing initiatives and communities of practice.\nSupport the development of engineering standards, guidance and best practice.\nDesirable Requirements:\nProven experience within a structural engineering consultancy environment.\nStrong experience in the design and delivery of building structures or other relevant structural engineering projects.\nExperience coordinating structural designs within multidisciplinary teams.\nExperience managing elements of projects and coordinating engineers and technicians.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging clients, contractors and other professionals.\nCommercial awareness and understanding of project delivery.\nAbility to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team.\nA proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.\nMinimum Requirements:\nExcellent knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, procedures and structural principles.\nExperience undertaking structural engineering projects, analyses and calculations.\nExperience supervising work to the appropriate technical standard and managing delivery to programme and budget.\nAbility to deliver design solutions and assessment calculations, lead teams and successfully manage projects.\nA solid track record across a variety of
