Join us.\n The Traffic/ITS Department is actively seeking a creative, self-driven, highly talented Senior Traffic Engineer for employment in the Raleigh, NC office. This role will be responsible for managing traffic engineering projects from proposal development through final delivery, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, mentoring technical staff, and supporting strategic growth initiatives throughout North Carolina.\nIf you are a successful applicant, you can look forward to joining a large, dynamic, and highly technical team of engineers and analysts who are driven to provide exceptional work to our clients. Activities include, but are not limited to:\nLead and manage traffic engineering, transportation planning, and traffic operations projects from proposal development through project completion\nAnalyze corridors, intersections, and network operations to identify mobility, safety, and capacity improvement opportunities.\nPerform traffic operations evaluations using industry-standard software and methodologies.\nCoordinate with state DOTs, municipalities, and MPOs clients to deliver quality projects.\nManage project budgets, schedules, scopes, resource allocation, and quality control efforts.\nPrepare technical reports, presentations, public meeting materials, and project documentation.\nLead proposal development efforts, client interviews, and business development initiatives.\nEstablish and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for growth and expanded services.\nProvide technical oversight and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews for project deliverables.\nMentor and develop junior engineering staff and support professional development initiatives.\nCollaborate with planners, roadway engineers, environmental specialists, and other transportation professionals.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nMinimum Requirements\nBachelor's degree in civil engineering and 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.\nProfessional Engineering (PE) license in North Carolina or ability to acquire within 6 months.\nExperience in the Express Design Traffic Evaluation (EDTE) process.\nExperience in Synchro, HCS, TransModeler, and MicroStation.\nKnowledge of traffic engineering and/or transportation planning.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in civil engineering.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management skills, a strong work ethic, attention to detail.\nExperience in traffic forecasting.\nExperience with additional related software’s such as GIS, ORD, AutoCAD, and TransCAD.\nExperience in Signal Design, Communications, or electrical details.\n Relocation is not available for this position.\nSponsorship is not available for this position.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
