Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to be based in Los Angeles or Orange, CA.\nJob Responsibilities: \nBe part of a team of ITS/Transportation Technology professionals\nLead, participate, & coordinate engineering production, technical deliverables, and project execution\nWork with the ITS engineering staff on a daily basis throughout the West Coast\nParticipate, coordinate, & lead ITS engineering projects and ITS design tasks throughout the West Coast and Greater West Regions\nSupport project delivery across the West Coast and Other US Regions\nSupport a wide range of ITS projects for freeway, arterial, transit, traffic signal, safety, communications, NS tolling systems as well as digital services, AI, and emerging technologies delivery\nAnalyze/identify how best to integrate various systems to optimize effectiveness, operations, and staff resources as well as minimize costs \nBuild and maintain collaborative relationships with AECOM co-workers across Business Lines\nAssist or lead in proposal efforts for various ITS project pursuits\nPerform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule\n Minimum Requirements:\nBA/BS and 6 years + experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBS in Engineering degree.\n10+ years of relevant ITS and Transportation Engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nExpertise with ITS Systems Engineering (Needs Definition, Concept-of-Operations, System Requirements, Alternatives Analysis, etc.)\nExpertise with High-Level Architectures, Designs, & Plans\nExperience with Communication Networks and Systems Design for data and video, both wireless and fiber optic designs\nProven California project experience and relationships (people, systems, and Agencies)\nStrong background in ITS design, emerging transportation technologies, and Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO)\nMust be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management skills\nExcellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills\nDemonstrated ability to write concise and readable technical reports, documents, memorandums, and/or presentations\nStrong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to discuss projects with AECOM co-workers and Clients\nHands-on experience working on Teams and working with Public Sector Clients\nCalifornia PE license\nProficiency in the ITS Architecture Process\nITS Design/PS&E skills\nHands-on System Integration experience\n5+ years of job-related experience in California, Nevada, Oregon, or Washington\n This position does not offer sponsorship now or in the future.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
